Do the right thing Duer

Is that a typo!?

Nope....... Insane ain't it.
Teams don't even have to make the effort to get better. Just hope they can get a hot streak going at tournament time. :lol:

SWAC teams can sit back, lose all 30 regular season games, and still make the SWAC tournament. :lol:

:retard::retard:

I don't know of anybody, on any level, playing any sport, who would choose to "sit back" and lose all their games, simply because they will make the post season tournament. :retard:

keep it real.

83, rob

All 10 SWAC teams now qualify to go to the tournament. (SU and Gram's men teams are banned for APR). But there will be 10 womens team playing.

I think its a great decision. One that was long overdue. I have posted for years about that. They finally heard me. LOL!

but here is the official swac statement when the announcement was originally made from swac.org.

Presidents Adopt Postseason Ban Policy

Release: 06/09/2011

June 9, 2011

Birmingham, Ala. - The SWAC Council of Presidents and Chancellors voted Thursday to adopt a league policy to prohibit any member institution subject to NCAA postseason bans to include SWAC championships and tournaments. The policy is effective immediately.

Currently, the policy prohibits Southern and Jackson State from being eligible to participate in the 2011 Farmers Insurance SWAC Football Championship, and it prohibits the Southern and Grambling State men’s basketball teams from participation in the 2012 Farmers Insurance SWAC Basketball Tournament.

I'm not talking about the teams with the 30 losses...I'm talking about SU and GSU participating.

No...that has to be a typo b/c even the link to the article from the Advocate states that as it stands with the NCAA ban SU (and GSU) will not be participating in the tournament in Texas next month.

So I was asking MH if that was a typo (all 10 teams) b/c SU and GSU should not be able to participate as it stands right now.

ss,
Those decisions (inviting all 10 teams and banning SU/Gram) are independent of each other.

If there was no ban this year for SU and Gram, then they would be there too. But because of the ban, 8 teams for the men will be there. All 10 teams for the women.

I said a swac team COULD SIT BACK.
Not only would I sit back the 1st half of the season, I would not run my starters into the ground. I would save them for a 2nd half run while everybody else is spent and burned out. And by no means would I schedule a murderers row of BIG BOY games from November thru December. I would be a cupcake playing, record padding son of a gun.

In other words, I would use the SWACs own rules to my favor. Besides, the only thing that matters in this conference is the Tournament title ---SWAC title. :lol:

Okay. So 10 were "invited", as usual, but only 8 mens teams will be there due to the ban.

so, if/when you do all that, does that guarantee that you would win the SWAC tournament? :smh:

yeah. Remember, in years prior, only the top 8 teams made the SWAC tournament, and the bottom 2 had to stay home. Now, all 10 teams will make it. The only reason SU and Gram won't be there is because of the APR ban.

Your chances are greater.
No they're not. And no I haven't seen that movie.

Do yall think the SWAC is the first conference where all teams are involved in the postseason tournament???? Far from it.
I guess yall think all these other teams in other conferences are saying to hell with the regular season.
:retard::retard:

Look MH.
I just said it is insane to let every freaking team into the tournament. THAT IS ALL I SAID. I gave no gurantees, never said the sky would fall, never said this that or the other. :lol:

Stupid decisions are stupid decisions. Just like the dumb crap the SWAC do in football, the same is for basketball now.

As usual............ You love anything the SWAC leadership do. :lol:

jsu is currently tied for last place in the SWAC. Maybe Anderson is doing what yall are saying yall would do, in hopes to compete at the tournament. Maybe the coaches of last place teams in every conference are doing it-- Throw away a whole season just because you will be in the postseason tournament. :retard:

yall can't be serious. I refuse to believe yall are.
:lol::lol:

Why not? What would be the excuse for us to be in last place? I mean, WE ARE JACKSON STATE.

What would be the excuse for us to be in last place?
Not an excuse, but a reason-----Because yall suck. :lol:
That's according to some of your own jsu folks who post on here. And then seeing how a bad ASU team beat you in Jackson, I'm inclined to believe what those jsu folks were saying. :lol:

seriously, I would never suggest that our teams/coaches are not trying to win every single time they suit up.

Now how many times in the SWAC tourney have we seen the 8th seed knock out the 1 seed. (if I recall correctly the 97 PV squad was the only 8th seed to win the tourney)

MH........ You and posters here have proved over the years ya'll don't care about anything except getting there. As long as the conference keep dragging dead weight along, year after year, ya'll happy. Don't matter to ya'll if you look like the King of Spoiled Slaw going in. :lol:

With the record JSU got, this is the year I'm hoping JSU go out of the tournament hard and quick. We can start working for next year. I would be embarrased as hell if JSU won the SWAC tournament and went on to the NCAA's with that garbage 5 win record. :lol:

Fiyah, i've been right here...why you ask? BTW, I know exactly where the tournament is held. I was there last year as I will be this year. The very very first post makes reference to Arlington and SU being a BIG BIG draw in Arlington. (See Below)

SEE: (Duer Sharp should allow the Jags to play in the SWAC Tournament. Currently ranked #2 and he knows Southern would be the biggest draws for attendance in Arlington. For the story:

You came right in swinging at everyone. There were not that many SU Peeps in Garland last year.
