Jerry Jones: GM would clutter process

Dr. Phreeze

It is I...Yes it is...
Jerry Jones, the NFL's only owner/general manager, won't even consider changing the structure of the Dallas Cowboys' front office, despite the fact that disappointing seasons have been the norm since the franchise's mid-1990s dynasty died.

"The facts are that I've spent 22 years doing this exactly the same way," Jones said Tuesday on KRLD-FM. "I've made a lot of changes from year to year as time goes along, but frankly, I know that when we do not have the kind of success, when we don't have expectations lived up to, the one that should get the most heat is the one that ultimately makes the decisions, period, with the Dallas Cowboys. And that's me."

Jerry Jones should follow the blueprint of Benson in New Orleans. Benson placed his grand daughter in training and truth be told she makes a lot of the decisions. Dallas will never win another Superbowl as long as Jerry Jones continues this arrogance.

I guess when someone buys a team for $140 million they can do what they want to with it.

And there's the answer right there......

You tell'em Jerry!!! Tell'em!!!!!!!! You'll draft who ever you want to draft, you'll hire who ever you want to hire, you'll play who ever you want to play. Tell'em!!!!!!! Everything is BIG in Tx.

I think Jerry is the best owner/GM there is. Jerry should remain GM as long as he wants.

I with Jerry. You tell them mofos what time it is. You are the man. You will be greater than Al Davis ever thought he was. You should go one step further. You should be the owner, GM and HEAD COACH. That will show them. Remember Al was the Raiders coach back in the day. So you need to carry on that legacy. You can do it Jerry. We got confidence in you.

IMO, Jerry don't give a dayum about wins & loses. He has figured out that the Dallas Cowboys is a NAME BRAND that is bigger than the NFL. His vision for the Dallas Cowboys BRAND NAME is bigger than football, as he probably makes more off that stadium alone than what the rest of the NFL teams does in revenue combined!

Do you know that the AT&T Cotton Bowl tickets sold out in August prior to any team being selected? There is a waiting list for tickets for 2013! The rest of the NFL has to WIN, Jerry and the Cowboys don't, although it would be nice.

Frat. Jerry is a ego driven guy. He already has enough money so that don't motivate him like talking about. He can't spend it all anyway. LOL. He wants to win the SB because that would make his brand even bigger. Right now, outside of that stadium, other teams are making money big time. The NFL aint the NBA. They all make money except maybe J'Ville and even that is suspect. Jerry is a shrewd business man but he aint stupid. Wins would send the Cowboys over the top. Right now the Cowboys are in danger of losing the next generation of fans if they don't win something soon. These kids have not seen a Cowboys SB title. If they don't win in the next 5 years, that brand is not going to be what it is today. Not saying he aint going to still be making big money off his deals, the stadium and selling Cowboys merchandise. It will be just starting to go the other way in popularity. Had the Texas Rangers won the World Series coupled with the Mavs winning the NBA title. Jerry was probably ready to bust a gasket. LOL. He can't be happy being the third best franchise in his city. Even if they are worth a billion dollars. Just like the Yankees ownership. They don't like losing. JJ aint a happy camper by no means.

And pink pigs can fly.

JR, you are right, winning a SB would be a plus, a big plus, but until JJ dies, it will come with the decisions he makes. If that means drafting Quincy Carter in the 2nd round, then he will do it while everyone laughs at him. He is also smart enough to know that until his football decisions produce him a SB, his creative business mind makes his Dallas Cowboy Empire the best in the world. Not only does he have a larger fan base than the rest of the NFL due to Dallas geographical location (TX, NM, Arizona, and Mexico), but his Cowboy Stadium is the most attractive facility in the world, which he has booked up at crazy rates for years to come. Again, the facility is a business venture unrelated to the football product of the Dallas Cowboys.

If the NFL didn't have a salary cap, Dallas would have all the best players in the league. Luck for the rest of the NFL owners, Jerry can't go out and buy all of the best players cause he would! He has to THINK how to win while spending the same cash as the rest and he simple can't do that!

Just like the Redskins fans.

Anyone who's a Dallas Cowboy fan hates Jerry Jones. It's impossible to. It was after the hiring of Dave Campo as head coach that I realized that we are in an Oakland Raiders/ Al Davis situation. And something tells me Jerry has a lot of years left in the tank.

If the NFL were like MLB, Jerry Jones would be like Steinbrenner. Buying championships left and right. But in the NFL you have to have a savy GM.

Well sooner or later Jerry the owner will need to fire Jerry the GM. Because the fans are getting tired of this mess and seeing the Cowgirls go after "names" and not bringing in players.

Question-what is missing from this group?

Since 1999-the following events have happened for DFW.

Stanley Cup Champs
Stanley Cup Runner Ups
American League Penant (twice)
World Series runner up (twice)
Western Conference Finals (three times)
Best record in the conference/league
NBA Finals runner up
NBA Champs

What is missing?
The Cowgirls have done nothing except make the news for players getting arrested, trying to kill themselves, Kardashian leftovers and 1 playoff win.

Time for a change.

Jerry Jones is a smart business man. Any little pion that works for him should take note on how to run a business netherless a team. Anyway, people have to remember the system was different when Jerry Jones bought the Cowboys,he literaly built a championship with the system that was in place at that time.

JJ played for Frank Browles at Arkansas. One thing the Coach Browles and JJ have in common is they are going to do it their way. That is simply the way the ole school businessmen did things. Today, a smart businessman hires people who are smarter than them to get the job done. Smart businessman of yesteryear simply did the work themselves. With that being said, JJ will never hire a GM because he thinks nobody can do it better than him.

Right now, his team gets more TV time to themselves than any other NFL team. His team sells more tickets, more gear than any other NFL team. His stadium is light years ahead of the next stadium on earth. Many GMs (not just football) are struggling to meet payroll, even though they have championships or playoff wins.

JJ is the best GM in the league, in JJ's mind and that is all that counts to him.

Man, Jerry is the bestest owner that this league has. I see why now that GR, Rob, DCG, and others love this team soooooooo much. Man, I'm envy of you all because you have the Legendary Jerry Jones as an owner, GM, Vice-president, video tech, custodian, etc... Man, Arthur Blank can learn a thing, two, or three from Jerry.

JERRY ROCKS!!!
