The country has been on a decline well before 2011. The system is broken, and no one party will be able to fix this mess were in if you gave them 100 years.

That is a given, but when you purposely stop every bill in the nation to put one man out of office, you are hurting the American people.

Have you examined every bill proposed to make a determination that if passed, would help the country? We've had those in the House and Senate admit to passing bills without even reading them. I'm not saying the Republicans are right in blocking bills. However, one shouldn't also scream "pass this bill" not knowing what's in it either like Nancy Pelosi said during the whole health care bill saga

Man yall can go cry a river with that health care bill shyt. Everyone should have access to healthcare. Anyone that feels as though folks shouldn't have healthcare is a selfish, self centered human being. Yes, some bull junk came along with it, but the intent of that bill is the focus. Helping Americans.

Cee dog I'm an independent. I believe in universal healthcare for everyone. Also, I believe the Democrats have assisted in a "crutch" system for the poor and the Republicans have created a system of pull yourself by your boot straps mentality. It's all so fugging ridiculous and quite frankly I don't trust any U.S. Congressman or woman no matter what party they serve.

Of course everyone should have health care -- for free in fact (much like high education should be as well). However, the bull junk you describe in the bill consists requiring employers to provide coverage or pay a special tax. Everybody not covered by an employer will be required to purchase insurance under penalty of law, in much the same manner as you're currently required to buy car insurance.
It also will leave tens of millions uninsured, a hundred million or more underinsured, and the same private interests in charge of the American health care system that run it now. Not to mention Big Pharm will make a killing off this reform because loopholes still exist.
Finally, it doesn't fully kick in until 2014. If health care reform was so important, why wait until two years from now for folks to reap all the benefits?

That'a what I have been saying all along. They are saying no to everything the president is trying to do and trying their damnest to put all of the money into the top 1% or 2% hand(s)!

i'll give it to you like this, look at my home state Mississippi, FOR YEARS it has been a red state ruled by Repubs, but year in and year out where are we ranked in terms of states on a regular basis?????

There is a lot already in effect, though. Most importantly for many people is the pre-existing conditions clause and adult dependent coverage.

On the DEAD BOTTOM! I think they are more concerned with putting more money into their own hands rather than REALLY trying to bring business so everybody can benefit from it. To tell you the truth manufacturing was on the RISE and it was very thriving and now things have dwindled mainly because of lay-offs and jobs being sent overseas!

You are right, that is what the dumb down right wing call him. He was selected to be president and he will be selected again in 2012. Then they will give us a republican in 2016, possibly Jed Bush and then we really will be going to hell on a grease pole. If he don't win the election, they will just rig it, like they did in 2000 & 2004.
If any of you cannot see the fake left/right controlled opposition, then you really need God to open you eyes. I am not a Republican, Dem, Independent or especially the dumb down Tea Party. We as Black people need to open our eyes and get back to God.
This Health Care bill is for the Insurance Companies to make more money and in the end, we will all be sorry. Trust me, the republicans, especially Eric "The Crook" Cantor is for it also, just playing you along.

DGTM, The overwhelming majority of governors since reconstruction have been democrats. MS didn't get a republican gov. till Kirk Fordice in 1991. The Dems have held the MS governorship, house and senate for over 120 years. Our problems began well over 20 years ago. Even our congressmen and senators were Dems! Thad Cochran was the first republican senator since reconstruction in 78, and Trent Lott didn't become a senaotr tin 88! Where is this "Republican rule" you talked about?
