Love that style! But way too much hair for me to deal with. I wear a short natural and have been natural for like the 3rd-4th time for almost 3 years now.

Perms will NEVER be played out, Founder. :smh: Natural is MORE maintenance than perms...and y'all dudes don't have a clue. Trust me when I say PERMS WILL BE HERE UNTIL...I've done both, and the top photo was just about how I looked...:smh: at the work necessary. Don't see that in my future any time soon! But do you!

The women that I know who are natural have low maintenance....I know women who are natural have taken a shower washed their hair...got out...and kept it going....

Perms to me are played out because they bring no adventure to look of the woman....

You have some black women (luckily like myself) who can do that due to the texture of their hair. Buuuuuuuuut, everyone can't get away with that. There are certain texture/grades of hair that is more manageable than the more coarse hair.

Right. You have some women's hair that the "Au naturale`" look just doesnt work. Their hair grade is horrible.

I think a lot of it has to do with them getting perms at an early age changing the Ph of their hair. Chemicals will definitely change the texture of a person's hair.

And have short natural hair. I had LONG natural hair...:smh: It didn't reallly "Afro"..you know, it "kinda" stood around the sides and the top was too long so it laid one way or the other and I'd have that "split"...nope, Creamy Hair Crack and me are gonna be tight.

Sometimes that coarse hair works toward a woman's advantage if she desires to be natural. Coarse hair makes for good locs, cornrows and braids. But that wash and go? Nah, it's gon take a little bit more maintenance. Wash and go (and for it to look GOOD) is for the curly/wavy hair folks.

When I had my mohawk earlier this summer, I'd have strangers (especially in stores) ask me how I'd get my hair to "curl up."

I've seen women go and buy this natural stuff for their hair...my sister buys it.....

Locs are BEAUTIFUL when well-maintained.
Locs are sexy on a man, too, especially if he got long locs falling down to nice broad shoulders and arms to match. :D
