Unless I'm wrong, Pops said in his post that some women (and men) get offended at the suggestion of hitting the gym. He DID NOT clarify it was a girlfriend, wife, significant other, f*ck buddy that he offered his suggestion to, which is why I asked him the question. I'm guessing he offered his "suggestion" to males as well as females. The point I was trying to make is why should the way he feels about letting himself go be "suggested" to someone who has a better self-esteem about themself?
This whole topic comes down to women being judged and valued in regards to their looks more so than men are. It's always been that way and will be forever.
she coming outside with heels on...and you're like uhh where you going with those... where we going u need on some tennis shoesLOL @ the thought of taking a date to the gym instead of dinner and a movie
Would you prefer the dude stay with you if you gained weight.. which means 9 times out of 10 he loses his attraction to you and starts seeking the attraction that you USED to have? Because if he stays with you more than likely thats whats going to happen. People tend to forget that with men, physical attraction is more than likely what made them approach you to begin with. And yes the "love" thing should be eternal but you're fooling yourself if you believe that's enough to keep a man committed to you if the attraction is gone. That'll eventually lead to the sex life slacking off and disappearing and go downhill from there.

Funny thread. I don't see very many model-type bodies on women over 35. A lot of viewpoints will change in about a decade or so.
I digress.....I think you were right Crit.....

If the "attraction" starts slipping and not headed for repair, he won't have to worry about our relationship. I'm more likely to drop the relationship quicker than him. Then we can both be happy.
Men are visual. Women know that. But guess what? So are WE! Yes, women are more likely to stay in the relationship, BUT it's when his behavior/treatment has NOT changed.
Haven't seen any parts of 210 since I pledged.
However, I went from 240 to 270 and I hated the way I looked. I looked huge. I felt uncomfortable on planes and such. I am at 235 and I love it now.
Not mine. I am over 40 and still like women in shape. My ole lady hits the gym 5 days a week. My weight limit will be for life. I am shallow. Real shallow when it comes to my woman. Sorry, I just like what I like. Longer hair, in shape, nice butt, tall, pretty skin nice feet. Yeah, I am the shallow king.
Also,
one partner can't workout while the other just lets themselves go. That is the recipe for disaster. You getting big while your partner in the gym seeing hardbodies and stallions. Don't get me started on what I see from women and their personal trainers all the time.
Man last time I was 210 was 2004. I'm not there yet but I trying hard to get there. I'm down three sizes in the waste and large shirts on a good day. all is right for my health sake right now..
But Women can gain weight they just don't need to get fat.....But I think its up to the man to set the tone for the family. We changed eating habbits for the entire family not just dad and we saw a difference in everyone... Eat more meals at home and what what you put in it.. Stop giving daddy the big peice of chicken. Cut them all into small portions and watch how many you eat. No seconds. Stop getting daddy two sausage biscuits..Jut get me one Chicken biscuit and fruit...
Life changes..If she gains help her get it back down..

I thought this was about just gaining weight? Who said anything about getting up to Precious size? It seems some folks would chunk up the deuces if a woman gained 15-20 lbs.
At least you're not in denial. And you can be a plain as you wanna be, as long as your ole lady loves it.
