Sorry GR, only Steve McNair is worthy of the phrase "Hand Him The Heisman". He finished 3rd OVERALL while playing for an HBCU....:D...which in case your wondering, is unheard of in modern times. BTW "Hand Him The Heisman" is Trademarked by THE ALCORN STATE UNIVERSITY.

BTW, you must be getting old GR. Attempting to indirectly smack Alcorn but to no unveil. Please try again....:D.

Gotta a question for you....Since you JSU folks claim Spears is such a bad coach, what is his record against JSU as an assistant or Head Coach?

Because it seems to me that no matter where he has gone, JSU has always been broken.

He lost to Bell. I don't think Stump would lose to bell on his worst coaching day.

If you think that Lyvonia Mitchell is a better coach than Bell, you are a worser football fan than GR thought you were. Lyvonia Mitchell is the worst coach of all time.

Dont know much about that, but Lyvonia might be even worser than Johnny Thomas. Lyvonia is terrible. He is arrogant and believes he is too good for the SWAC just like everybody else that comes down here to coach. He might be great OFF the field, but on the field he has no applicable knowledge.

Both are horrible, but at least Bells teams were discipline and good on special teams. Bell did understand how to recruit and who he SHOULD be looking for whether he got them or not. Even if Bell had a bad team, he wouldnt just go after any player. Bell also build an infra....you know what dude...if you believe in Lyvonia, so be it. Let me know how that works out for you.

Yep. I believe in ole Stump to fix some main issues for us. We will see if it translates in to wins and he does know talent when he sees it. The coaching will be something that we will watch play out. He is a better recruiter than Pete ever was. Pete couldn't sell a dog a bone. LOL. Thank goodness for Kaiss, Singletary, JCole, Orlando, and Dooley all those years in the 90s.

JR, you're giving Stump credit for who HIS assistants are recruiting, but you dissin ole Pete for who HIS assistants recruited? You can't blame Pete for surrounding himself with good recruiters just like you can't blame him for finally bringing a SWAC title to SU after almost 30 years.:snicker:
Pete was a great coach!!!
