Fiyah, before "Tullygate" where had Prairie View played Southern every other year when it was a home game for Prairie View?

Calm down C-LeB. You're coming across like that guilty white woman who allegedly "lost" her enfant to some fictitious baby-sitter last name "gonzalez" and is duking it out in court w/ her own mother who busted her. lol

That "TBA" was there pre-season for a reason that was purely financially driven. :read: :read: :read: :read: :read: :read: Even the logistics of time of day was pre-calculated for depth purposes. :swink: lol

This is sTu's home game. I don't understand the defensive posture. Y'all can schedule it whereever you deem necessary since it's your home game this year. I'd assume to have the game played in a cow pasture rather than sorry assed expensive reliant stadium. :retard:

Dey backing U in a corner man. :| UR being defensive. lol

PV and PV staff ain't y'alls enemy. HSA is. :read:

Ok, gotcha; if only I was as smart as you.

However, any dumb ass would know why in the hell would anybody give a damn where we play one of our home games? I mean, has any Texas Southern poster questioned PV for not honoring the game against Sam Houston?

What about Southern moviing it's home games to Jackson?

Damn C-LeB. What does PV-SHSU and SU-JSU have to do w/ where sTu is playing it's home football game vs PVAMU? :emlaugh:

(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((FOCUS))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) lol

And, don't play me like I'm from houston. We're above "trash" out this way. lol

Exactly! And the answer is not a damn thing! So why are folks worried about where a Texas Southern home game is played?

I've had enough. Whenever I need "entertainment," I just return to this region because it's tooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much of it around these parts. Y'all some entertaining people. :emlaugh:  No mas. No mas. lol

Extremely juvenile but typical of black people.

Herbert.....do you know the PV side of the story or your listening to the street committees who don't even bother to call us to see what's going on and they get their info from former PV employees in Houston?

For C-Leb...games for PV and Southern

1992 - Robertson
1994 - Robertson
1996 - Robertson
1998 - Beaumont (Lamar)
2000 - Dome
2002 - Reliant (1st SWAC game in Reliant)
2004 - Reliant
2006 - Tully
2008 - Reliant
2010 - Shreveport
2012 - who knows

With the current AD, Reliant for outside TSU is not an option

So that's why I say if 2002 and 2004 was in Reliant and the 2006 season was coming up, why would Southern fans not assume the same?

When was the Kyle Field game? 1926?

Again I will say for me it is the issue you guys are claiming the only reason you are playing in Tully is because of PV taking the SWAC/MEAC challenge and you did not konw that is what we were doing and thus you had no chance to find a decent stadium to accomodate the small masses. Like I will say again, I don't care where we play. I am with P88. But just don't sit up there on the high horse with your AD and act like it is our fault. You guys want to play in Tully. So when babies are crying and people are pissed they can't go to the game don't blame it on PV. Blame it on the alchohol you sippin right now because that is the only thing that makes the lie for going to Tully an honest answers.

You'll say it again? Where did I or any other Texas Southern poster state we wanted to play our home game at Tully Stadium? Last time I checked, we are playing the game at Delmar.

I haven't bitched or moaned about PV playing in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge (matter fact, I hope y'all hang y'alls foot in they MEAC ass!). I never had an issue of not playing PV on Labor Day weekend or not playing in Reliant. Matter fact, I hate that game was ever in Reliant; what purpose does it serve to have 20K-30K in a 70K+ seat stadium?

It is what it is. Now go back and find out where I bitched about the LDC.

It should not matter. People who make more then must of us came together to make a decision on where the game is played.

PV vs. TSU game moved to Delmar Stadium Pt. II

“Reliant Stadium was not available because the Texans have home games scheduled for those weekends,â€￾ said TSU athletics director Dr. Charles McClelland. “We were informed by Reliant officials that Texas Southern would not be allowed to play on the field the day before a Texans’ game.â€￾

TSU searched for a larger venue to host the Prairie View game, but Delmar was the largest stadium available for that date. The game was changed from the traditional Labor Day Classic because PV accepted an invitation to the MEAC/SWAC Challenge which is scheduled for September 4th. The short notice left TSU with limited options

Annnnnnnnnnnnd continue. I'm sure some random moderator will close this thread for the sake of embarassment.... :emlaugh:

Seriously though TSU fans (all 3 of you), we forced yall to move the game to Delmar? How so?

Well I have had a issue with it since it was being considered. I'm a traditionalist and knew how this game was when it was played at the end of the season. I think since it was moved to the beginning of the season back in 1985 it has been better. You can't compare any of the end of the season games with the lowest attended games from the beginning of the season. You don't just knocked this game out for the swac-meac crap, cause that's all it is...crap.

That's their decision and we are just here talking about it.

There is nothing wrong with this thread and it shouldn't be closed.....

Listen up PV, GSU, SU ASU, etc. We have a capabale AD at the helm and he knows numbers. Let's evaluate:

1) This game is a TSU home game which means no revenue split with PV
2) 12,000 seat venue-tickets will probably be priced at $20. Let's say 8,000 x $20.00 = $160,000. So, can you say we will easliy clear at least $100,000.
3) Keep the game at delamar and I see $$$ signs
4) The atmosphere is going to be electric

I am reposting what I typed in this thread earlier.....this is for the PV folks , GSU folks, and SWACINSIDER.......So, why can't you people accept the fact that the game is going to be palyed at Delmar and it is a financial move for us? You folks do realize that the entire country, state, and city are in a budget crunch. That said, TSU is doing what is best for us and if you don't like it, then stay your ass at home. It is NOT called the LDC this year because it is NOT Labor Day when the game is played. All of you guys are hating because you fear what a winning program at TSU will do.

TSU has a large alumni base in Houston, the big city with lots to do and over the years we did NOT win- so as many Houstonians- if you do not win then we are not coming. Ask the Rockets, Astros, and soon to be Texans if they don't get it together. We all know what TSU fans, students, and alumni will do behind a winner. We showed up for Southern and went to Birmingham and we are not a traveling school. Once we play in our stadium, yes, OUR stadium we will increase our fan base, increase our revenue, and take over the SWAC as I stated before.

How many times have we heard GSU and JSU folks say if my school was in Houston we would have big crowds....BullSCh** you would not. GSU goes on the road because nobody will travel to Grambling-check the attendance. As far as our fans looking to play PV- many of the black folks in Houston go to see two black schools play and because they know someone who has graduated form one or both schools and to see the bands. Hell, PV folks are happy to play us and in Houston trust me on that. I can't count the times over the years where PV folks hoped, prayed, fasted, chanted, performed voodoo, etc. hoping to beat TSU. If I had a dollar for everytime I heard people say the games between TSU vs PV are boring I would be rich and could have built TSU a stadium in cash years ago. Hell, I went to the game to support TSU because by the time it was 50-0 leaving after halftime was the norm for many. Sorry ass PV is the reason the game never drew 50K because of the poor performing team.

State Fair Classic- as you mentioned 80 years of history so most of the people there go to participate in the circus. Take away the Fair and it would be just another game. I heard back in the 60s TSU vs GSU use to draw 40K-50K so again PV has looked forward to playing us not the other way around.

This season, watch how many GSU folks come to GSU to see us play, hell look at how many of them came out on a Thursday night to play us in 2010. As the season progressed TSU's crowds grew. Just admit it you folks fear what is going to happen in the SWAC and that is what- let's say it together TSU is going to take over the SWAC! Now, you feel better- breathe!

SWACINSIDER- If you live in Houston over the years the media would put TSU down because it was an attempt to close the school. TSU has placed so many folks in the middle to upper class probably more than any other SWAC schools. Our pharmacy school has been graduating students since the '50s, our law school has been sending graduates to city, state, and national positions for years. Our Eductaion department has been producing teachers and principals for years, and the Business School has been developing business owners for decades.

Stop watching TV so much and GET the real facts!!!!! Anyting else I need to school you on about TSU then ask me and not just hear the one-sided news reports.
