The Democratic Party, Republican Party, Tea Party, First Friday Party - not one of those parties are responsible for the enhancement of inner city School experience or HBCU experience. What in tha hell is the role of the HBCU President/Board of Trustees - school Superintendent/School Board if you think a party is supposed to enhance education rather than the community affected/directly related to the particular educational provider. You have more chance of affecting change working thru your local channels on what you would like to see rather than trying to go top first.
I grew up in Birmingham WEST END Alabama zip code 35211....my parents still live in the same house I grew up in and I am 45 years old - zip code 35211 at one time was the deadliest zip code in America per captia and today it still ranks as the 3rd deadliest. I have friends that have never left 35211 and are there selling drugs or doing nothing and I have friends from 35211 who are judges locally, elected officials, business owners or just making a clean decent living - none of these choices had to do with the government coming in - the government cant make you independent - the government cant tell you to not watch that tv show, not smoke/snort this, etc - that comes from personal repsonsibility and making up your own mind of what you want to do and how you want to get thru life.
