Pugh: 'It's a beautiful day here at Southern'

... This article makes it sound like Pugh has long-term plans.... (department wide dress code ... no saggy pant and no caps inside ... facebook and twitter accounts .... a team photo with all the coaches .... a massive fund raising gala... hiring a BB coach) Doesn't sound like she is only planning on being there a month or two.

Sounds like a permanent AD.

I don't recall LeFleur missing one basket or making one football pass on the field, so that excuse won't fly right here. Some folks may be naive enough to believe that nonsense, but not here.

By the way, wasn't LeFleur there when Pete went 8-3? Yall can't blame EVERYTHING on the man.:smh:

JayRob I would be afraid of you if I thought that you were dangerous, really I would.

Not my intention to make anyone afraid. I just like asking logical questions and getting logical responses in return.

How do you feel about Braddy?

Braddy's a non-issue. He's already retired. Under his tenure though, if I'm not mistaken, JSU won more Commissioners cups than any SWAC AD during the same period. That doesn't mean that I'll give him all the credit for those cups, neither will I blame him for a 3-8 record two seasons ago in football.

So if that's the case, what makes you all think his departure will improve SU athletics?

Having someone that is innovative in increasing outside funding and being able to inspire fans and alums to come support the athletic department would make wonders. Not to mention hiring the right people to run our athletic program. How about actually using our newly renovated stadium for our biggest non-classic game.

The last time we played yall in Mumford, the game didn't even sell out. Why is it that your fans don't show up to that game in Mumford the way they usually do in Memorial?

WTH kind of analogy was that, yo? The "teacher" would be equivalent to the coach, in which Lefleur was neither.

smdh...ok..let me break it down for you...

In the context of talking about a AD...the "test scores" would be the MGTM of the athletic department.. SO if you replace the AD the MGMT improves. SO if you have a comptent AD who brings money into atheletics you then cover hardships ie having more coaching staff/higher quality staff/more funds for equipment/etc. why am i breaking this down smh... i digress

Dude... I knew the Azzclown was dumb... But arwe you really this dumb too?

DO you even know what an AD is?

Do you know SU football and basketball was winning before Greg Lafleur was hired as AD?

It sounds like someone with a vision who wants to see things happen under her watch. You lay the foundation and hope someone will continue it, even if you can't.

Ain't gonna lie.
After the way they set ole girl up, making her tell the world about that NIT BID, I'm glad they did her right. :lecture:

That shat was wrong as 2 left shoes for a person with no left leg. :smh:

Juke, obviously they have forgotten what a bad AD does.......they had Culby hire his buddy Bell.

For Jay Rob,
Yes it is all on the AD. He made the hires of the coaches who had these bad records. And nope he can't take credit for Pugh......she got hired by Floyd Kerr. Same goes for Pete's 8-3 season, Pete was hired by Dr. Spikes. PWCs fire their ADs all the time for the failures of the coaches under them. Especially if they submitted them for hire.

Also our AD didn't connect with the community like he should have. Nor did he support the coaches when he needed too. That's why they are glad his arse is gone. Coach Pugh had enough with that NIT crap. It's his job to rally the alums and folks if we don't have money. You don't wait until the last minute. Nobody even knew how bad he had mismanaged or handled our budget. Just a bunch of mess. A bad AD can cancel out good coaching and good teams over time. It trickles down because the coaches are not getting the support they need.

You mean how the AD set Coach Pugh up like that. No one at SU knew anything until her press conference. She dropped the dime on the AD like she should have. That's what folks were talking about. As the AD, he could have asked for funds ahead of time just in case we didn't win the SWAC tourney and got the NIT bid. You have to be prepared. Dude would have been fired in corporate. Aint no way I can go tell my VP, I don't have a back up plan for my key suppliers if one of them goes down to build our products. It is called Risk Mitigation. The AD knew damn well we would need money for a NIT bid and should have reached out during the season to alums and fans for funds. Hell he should have done that all year. Like TBF said, none of us can depend on state money or just money from ticket sales anymore. He had no hustle in him.

Not so funny now, huh Frat....:swink:

I know it's not. But some of your fellow JSUers seem to forget what a bad AD can do to a program or programs in our case. I imagine Tn is about to can their AD soon for hiring Kiffin then Dooley and of course hiring Bruce Pearl.

Why was this thread moved to the smack board? It's a story on SU's interim AD not a conversation about someone suffering from "it" or "thing" or whatever the hell that shit arse thread was about. :shame:

Southern Ath Dept Has Seen Better Days

Hope Sandy Pugh can turn it around - do like her attitude and what I've seen so far of her approach...

There aren’t many things worse than being a Southern Jaguar fan right now.

If you’re a member of the Jaguar Nation, you’ve already had a long year … and that was before the leader of your athletic department couldn’t keep his pants up during Final Four weekend.

Or maybe Greg LaFleur just wanted an escape from what has been a brutal eight months. But finding it in the arms of what he thought was a Houston prostitute – one that turned out to be an undercover police officer – probably wasn’t the best way to “get away from it all.â€

It's usually the same people that turn a legit thread into smack because their day ain't complete until they say something negative about "SU".. it's FN pathetic!
