Heard Walter M. Kimbrough withdrew his name for the Chancellor's job at SU. He was the best candidate on the list.

Dude, come on. What the hell does that have to do with what we're talking about. The fact remains there's a new day at Southern and the rest of the SWAC is scared of the potential that exists in Baton Rouge.

You keep hoping and wishing buddy. Southern is a national school and unlike your PV, which will go back to loser, medocrity of a school that no one even in Texas gives a damn about, Southern is bound to make progress. A new chancellor, new AD, new basketball coach and possibly a new football coach being picked with little political strings being involved with Mason as our system president and Darren Mire as the board chairman. People on the outside may not understand but Southernites have every right to feel good about the potential that's coming. But then again this wouldn't register - look at who I'm talking to.
 
stop speaking with your heart and look at reality......we both have 100 years under our belts and we both rely on state funds in athletics unlike our counterparts nearby....

Kimbrough felt that SU wasn't for him at this time due to all the negativity and politics surrounding the university. You SU peeps say it's not a factor of what happening but in all actuality it is a factor. No one is scared BTW. You narcissism makes you believe that.:read:

The reality is as stated Southern's team will either go at least 6-5 next year or will be getting a new head football coach. Either way it's progress. No one said SU was going to win the conference championship next year. LaFluer did a piss poor job in running that department and had no business in that position. He got that job through inside connections and that bunch is slowly drifting away from SU - everybody knows this. Southern's name - whether you like it or not - is national. SU gets the right leadership in there and there's only one way but up - with or without state budget cuts. By the way, where did you graduate from again?

I never seen a bunch of grown men make so many "catty" responces because of "hate" or just because which is = to hate. smh

Jindal fuggin with ALL HBCUs in the State of Louisiana.. And GSU is WAY more vulnerable than SU is to him! Hell that cat don't want the state to do nothing about GSU's water/sewerage problem...

That's not a "throw back lick or hate, that's the truth. So why some of you talk like YOUR school is in some high class 90210 neighborhood is way past beyond me.

But I see the point he is making... But till this day I find it hard that ANY body that made it through that 1st week we went through can never have anything good to say about SU... It's beyond my comprehension...

Vulnerable but Grambling's graduation rates are higher than SU's and seems more stable at this point in time, you do know Jindal is looking at those type things now to issue out money? BTW this isn't about GSU, this is about SU trying to save face and make it seem like this kind of "S"candal crap isn't making SU look bad but from this very scandal SU has already lost a great candidate for Chancellor. You can get mad and try to twist bricks all you want to but it is what is is. Jindal has taken so much money for all the universities and the HBCU's are feeling it the most so don't talk like everything is just peachy when it's really not. PWC's can go through scandals and people are still going to flock there but HBCU's take a larger hit. When things happens like this it just validates what people think about HBCU's but hey yall are SU.

Kimbrough's line brother that went to the University of Georgia with him and pledged Alpha with him works with me and he talks to Kimbrough all the time. Just so happened he talked to him on yesterday in the office. Don't have to lie lol. I'm sure yall will get through it but the situation Louisiana is in it won't be an easy road.

Jindal don't care NOTHING about graduation RATES!!! He completely ignored UNO and SUNO were both hit by Katrina which is a BIG factor in their grad rate! He ain't care about that. He wants to cut spending and ELIMINATE HBCUs! SUNO is due 96 million in FEMA money which will go to the STATE if the two merge and he wants to MOVE SUNO to UNO so that he can SELL the land SUNO sits on!

This has NOTHING to do with GRAD. Rates!

I come to the RUSTON area alot due to my job and I hear and see the NEWS MANY of you GSU folk never post on here.. And it ain't PRETTY for GSU at all.. Matter of fact a few times in our PRIVATE forum we disguse how the STATE is trying to railroad GSU and actually are CONSERNED! Ain't no "HAHA look at what they trying to do GSU" in there...

Just a few months ago I was in Monroe and the top head lines was about eliminating ALOT of programs from those states schools up that way.. and GSU was going to get hit the hardest.. I ain't look at the tv and LAUGH and come of TSPN trying to smack about it. That shyt actually bothered me.

Maybe some of you are built different to where you care about no one but your damn selves..


Hell the real scandal was SU giving this mofo an extension after the PISS POOR job he has been doing.. and that BIATCH is from LSU.. Which is why I thought that batch was a plant..

Maybe the right people over at LSU hated they had to share a parade with SU back and 03 and they put all this shyt in place..

Actually you probably got news on what's going on in the town of Grambling that's separate from the institution because the University's administration is on it. Dr. Pogue and the ULS was just at Grambling on Monday talking about how Grambling has greatly improved in every facet and that HBCU's need to stick together in Louisiana and speak up for SUNO. Grambling has partnered with two community colleges to increase graduation rates and retention which has to be done in Louisiana now to receive a certain amount of money, i think that's what usatoday was speaking of. Now graduation rates are more important than ever how they have things set up now. UNO and SUNO has very very low graduation rates so they were easy targets. Grambling continues to move up the ladder. We are the only HBCU in the ULS and we have the top 3rd highest graduation rate in the System, the only two schools that are higher are La Tech and ULL is 1 point higher than GSU's so you had to get some news mixed up concerning issues going on in the town of Grambling. Didn't mean to sideswipe the topic so hope the topic gets back on track. SU will bounce back, it's a challenge working with less money but black people have always done more with less.
