The alcorn braves will play the final game of three game series at alabama state . The game can be heard on wprl.org . First pitch 1 pm . There is severe weather in the montgomery area.
 
Good, bad and odd from SU's doubleheader sweep

In a doubleheader sweep of Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday, the Southern baseball team didn’t always remind fans of, say, the ’86 Mets.

But the Jaguars did enough to win both games at Lee-Hines Field, rallying for a 6-5 victory in the first game, then erupting in an 11-1 wipeout.

A few noteworthy items from a beautiful spring afternoon on the Bluff:

THE GOOD
— Southern relievers made quite an impact on a day when their starters struggled.

In the first game, Cody Hall and SU fell behind 5-1 (it wasn’t all his fault; more on that later), but left-hander Zephan Rochelle did a lights-out job in relief.

As it turned out, a day like this was just what Wilmy Marrero needed.

Marrero, who spent much of this season starting at third base and batting cleanup for the Southern baseball team, woke up Saturday morning, had a little breakfast, then took a seat in the dugout as the Jaguars began their doubleheader sweep of Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Lee-Hines Field.

Marrero, a junior from Houston, had been 2-for-12 in his last four games. But by the end of Saturday’s first game — in which SU rallied for two ninth-inning runs and a 6-5 win — Marrero found himself back on the field, shortly after SU coach Roger Cador made a double switch.

Then, he delivered the game-winning hit. Later, Marrero homered, doubled twice and drove in three runs in an 11-1 victory in the second game as Southern swept a doubleheader.

Funniest moment of the SU/PB double header. SU batter hits a shot and blue had to dive out the way to avoid from getting a hit. The entire home crowd erupted . Blue tipped his hat :lol: . I love SWAC baseball.

track (indoor & outdoor) east dominate w/JSU and bama state (girls/boys)
volleyball (east dominate w/ aamu)
softball (east dominate w/ valley,alcorn)
golf (east DOMINATED ALL-JSU (men & women)
men tennis (east dominate w/ JSU and Alcorn men)
women tennis (west dominate w/ SU whooping azz)
bowling (west dominate w/Su
The count is east 10 and the west count 4.

So stop riding the west nutz when the suck jags are constantly losing. JSU don't ride the east because the east rides JSU and Bama State.
