They did look good. The conference is up for grabs.I love the team we have this year. Young and still have room to grow. Good showing G-Men.

Good Game. SU played like ish. Good thing it didnt count :swink: . I think the rain save GSU though. As the pitcher had already thrown 117 pitches lol. You could tell they didnt want to go to their bullpen.
I went to my first baseball game of the year today.... will never make another one... I just dont see how yall can watch this sport. I think I made it through 3 innings before I couldnt take no more. I dont see how I use to play baseball. Its just BORING.
You're from A&M aka Basketball school of course you wouldn't understand baseball. It's not for everyone, only the SUperior in mind. A&M's team would make me not watch baseball also.
As for the SU vs GSU game, both teams made mistakes and the rain caused many things. I know one thing for Cooper to be only 29, he has Grambling playing some good baseball and you can tell he paid attention to Barret Rey.
To each his own. Heck, I wouldn't mind watching women volleyball either. To most african americans, its like hockey. Most of us won't watch it either. You have to have a love for the game. Heck, how can anybody really like watching SWAC basketball when nearly all the inner-city high school teams look better than our schools!!!bruh I was a bat boy for the Huntsville Stars back when Jose Canseco and Mark McQuire won a Southern League championship and when Bo Jackson played for the Barons.... I UNDERSTAND the game perfectly... It was decent to play but always TO ME boring as hell to watch. Hell I played with someone who went to SU and got drafted (Franco Blackburn)... btw AAMU beat FAMU at the game I was at.... I stick to what I say Baseball boring as hell to me... I would rather watch a volleyball game.. more action.
True. I agree with everything said. Next weekend, they play each other in grambling and this time it counts toward the conference. I liked "Knuckles" from grambling and "Roy" (at the plate) for Southern. One thing I didn't like was SU's base running. It hurt them last year and it still hasn't been fixed. Both teams looked good but a little shaky at times with the errors but it is early. Those young brothers from Grambling looked like a good ball club that can vie for the title. I like their speed and intensity. We can't forget they won a big game Friday night also. The only thing that concerns me is the number of pitches which in the long run will not be sustainable. As we all know pitching depth is what takes a team to the next level. I believe that is the X factor for both programs. I wasn't overly impressed with the guy that relieved Garcia. However it is early in the season and the right thing to do to give relief and test arms. There is certainly a method to Cador's madness and we're lucky to have him.
Defense....and base running. Same thing that hurt last year. Have time to fix it. Will they is the question.I dont think sobut we shall see. Depth
.

Going out to the Game tomorrow Jackson to pick a fight so we will win....will make sure you get better updates also
Ellis was in the dugout last nite. He watched Rey, listened to Ellis and those old men who come to the games that played with Ellis, etc. Of course I didn't like him winning last nite, I do like the way he is handling the team and the direction he's trying to go. Good Luck to him!!! .... Except for next weekend!Actually, Cooper is paying attention to GSU's legendary baseball coach Wilbert Ellis, who is his mentor. Coach Ellis was inducted into the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Hall of Fame for his accomplishments to the game of baseball. Coach Ellis led us to three SWAC Championships and to three NCAA Tournament appearances. Although retired from coaching baseball, he serves the NCAA as Tournament Director for both the Regional and Super Regional tournaments. THIS IS WHO COOPER PAYS ATTENTION TO! :lecture::tup:
... some 2011 Urban Invitational Vids
Great win for GSU Baseball and Coop ... way to shake things up ... but then GSU is the 2010 SWAC Baseball Champs. SUJAG, stop making your usual excuses:swink:. Gram had errors too and the rain doesn't just fall on one team and not the other.
SU comes to Grambling this week-end. it will be a big 3 game series ... We Ready!

"It's a little tough, but I'm not that concerned about it," Cador said. "There are lot worse things that can happen to you in life. We're playing to get experience and get better. We want to win, but obviously we didn't tonight."
