Alcorn should give Spears a chance. I think he will have them rolling.
Stop it now. AJ is a better choice.![]()
lol. What is A&M playing him? You think he will take a pay cut? lol
Man I rather Melvin Spears.
Honestly Brave10,
I do not see Spears leaving Barlow especially after making it to the SWAC Championship game.
As for Anthony Jones, I believe one poster has stated that he received a $20,000 raise so forget him.
I really, really, want Mark Orlando to come to Alcorn and be HC. SU didn't give him the opportunity after Pete was abrutly removed and he has proven his worth in the SWAC.
I thought you were a jag? Man I rather Melvin Spears???????? smh proof
I refuse to accept the hiring of Anthony Jones and his philosophy of "Run the Football and Run it Some More". Alcorn needs a Head Coach who believes in the Mentality of Toughness and the Philosophy of Offensive Explosiveness.
I thought you were a jag? Man I rather Melvin Spears???????? smh proof

That's Melvin Spears. lol
I thought you were a jag? Man I rather Melvin Spears???????? smh proof
Spears would be the HNIC, why wouldn't he leave Bama State? I think he would go back to Alcorn. He graduated from there also, i'm sure he would go unless the pay was pathetic.
Spears is waiting on that big pay day from Grambling.
Spears is waiting on that big pay day from Grambling.
what from getting runned off after winning with Doug's players.
Well Here Is why I picked Cole.
Coach L.C. Cole has a career in coaching that spans more than twenty-six years and includes positions as head coach for three seasons at Alabama State University and four years at Tennessee State University; assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at Lane College, Concordia University – St. Paul; and Morgan State University. He served as assistant head coach at the University of Cincinnati; He also has seven years of experience at five universities: Eastern Michigan, University of Toledo, University of Wisconsin, Kansas State University, Ball State University, and New Mexico State University.
While at ASU, in 2000 the team shared the SWAC’s South West Division Championship and won the division championship in 2001.
Cole has an outstanding record of achievement. While at Tennessee State University, the only HBCU in the Ohio Valley Conference, the football team earned back-to-back conference championships in 1998 and 1999. In 1999 TSU was the only undefeated Division 1-AA team at the conclusion of the regular season. TSU had the second longest regular season winning streak (20-0), and impressive defensive stats – first in passing, second in rushing and fourth in total defense.
Cole was named the Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year in 1998 and 1999, and the 1998-99 GTE Regional Coach of the Year. In 1999 he was also named the American Football Coach’s Division 1-AA National Coach of the Year, Street & Smith’s Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year and TeamLink.Com’s Division 1-AA National Coach of the Year. In 1998 he was the recipient of the Pig Skin Club’s John W. Posey Award, the Rutherford Spirit Award and the Lester “Brute” Hayes Athletic Award.
In addition to the impressive stats on the field, while at Tennessee State Cole was successful in increasing the graduation rate among his student-athletes. During his tenure the graduation rate increased from 17% – 98%.
Cole played strong safety for the New York Jets. At the college level he was recognized with numerous awards and honors including Player of the Week, AFA First-Team Outside Linebacker and All-Big Eight Team Defensive End.
Cole graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.
