at his first ever JSU-SU game:
-People everywhere. People just left their cars parked all over the surrounding roads and in the medians. It was like some religious mecca and they were all converging on Veteran’s Stadium.
-Some lady sang the sloooowwest National Anthem ever. (The crowd sang the last 3 lines with her to make sure she finished it before halftime.)
-The bands were going at all night. The Human JukeBox was awesome.
-Griswold bombing JSU fans with his pregame field goals by kicking footballs OVER the retaining netting. (JSU fans kept two of the footballs for revenge.)
-A JSU ROTC and a Dancing Doll sustained ankle injuries. The ROTC person was carried off by his buddies and the Doll left in a wheelchair. Hope both are okay.
-Police responded to at least one altercation in the stands in the first half and the teams had to be separated from shaking hands after the game because of extra curricular activities.
-It’s true the Southern Band was called out a couple times by the Public Announcers for playing during the game and that the Jaguar fans refused to do the ‘wave’ with the Tiger fans. But we came to root on our team and it was a blast!
-The most exciting game I ever saw live. Sorry if you couldn’t attend. It was better than I could ever have imagined.
-If this is what JSU-SU rivalry is all about - I can’t wait till next year. Both teams refusing to quit and both deserved to win. It was like constantly having a hear attack one second and then going into ecstasy the next - the WHOLE game. I won’t forget this one for a long time.
