You don't think SU fans would like an SLU vs. SU matchup(regular season). I know SLU wouldn't want the matchup due to chances of losing to us and losing recruits to us too.

Dude SLU has been BEGGING SU to play them for years lol. SU has nothing to gain by playing them or any other FCS in state opponent.

And what do you base that on the fact that we haven't played any of them in a bowl before or that we've only played the southland conf. the last decade?

That's a pretty narrow minded view without any evidence to base it on other then the fact that we played a sunbelt conf team a couple of years ago and broke not only the schools record in attendance but the entire conf record.

Oh that's right Grams going to play LaTech this year and we all know that's going to be a bust. :rolleyes:

Really? I think playing a team like SLU could start up a little rivalry, it would definitely be better than playing Arkansas-Monticello, Central State, Fort Valley State, Texas College, Miles College, etc. I am certain our fans would come out in droves for this game due to the close proximity of the universities, and the fact that a lot of local players play on both teams. Only thing is when it is SLU's turn to host, they are going to have to play the game somewhere else. I would much rather play them than ULL.
 
And I am certain McNeese, Northwestern State, and SLU would show up to a bowl game against us. I can't speak for the rest of the Southland though.
 
Ivy League! I don't know about anyone other team's fanbase but the Jaguar Nation will make the trip to anywhere on the east coast for certain!

I think it helps recruiting when we play and beat them... but I feel ya on the FBS preference. Only thing is they won't come to our campus for the home game. Fortunately for Gram, we have the Port City Classic in Shreveport where they can/should be willing to play us (Gram).
