KJ Black - PV QB

In the FCS Huddle: Top 10 FCS Quarterbacks

K.J. Black, Prairie View A&M, Sr. - Just the fact that the Panthers won their first Southwestern Athletic Conference in 45 years last season is a telling accomplishment for Black. But his statistics also support what the 6-4, 225- pounder can do in the pocket. The SWAC Offensive Player of the Year, who transferred to Prairie View A&M from Western Kentucky, led the FCS in completion percentage (70.4) and passing efficiency (172.77). He completed 162- of-230 passes for 2,033 yards and 22 touchdowns. He carries a presence as a passer, but can make opponents pay with his feet, too.

That's a damn good completion percentage (70.4%). Some pro QBs can't manage that. If anyone knows, what's his rushing record? The article mentioned he can use his feet pretty good, too.

Sigh.......I wish he would hurry up and graduate! Please tell me this kid is a senior.:)

Sad news for the SWAC, the 6'5" freshman QB that they just brought in, throws harder, just as accurate and is just as fast as KJ, looks like no relief for a minute:clap:

And your staff didn't want to start him. :lecture:

We had a 5th year senior @ QB (grad school :) ) who knew the system in and out. What was "staff" supposed to do? I'll never second guess staff again. Afterall, they're the closest to the situation and know the ins and outs. Wouldn't you agree?

All I know is they didn't want to start him ...but hey, McNair came off the bench too. :D

Acoording to ESPN.com last year he was rated higher than Ryan Perrilloux

Impressive!
Hope he continues to do well for your team.......except when UAPB plays against PVUAM!:)
What's his rushing record? I'm always impressed with a QB whose not afraid to use his legs.

I used to really like seeing Ryan Perrilloux play. Nick Saban is reason why I like LSU, but I got really into them when Perrilloux was QB.

from seeing them both personally.... he wasnt no Perriloux... and his team wasnt no Jax State. Perriloux had 23 touchdowns and 2 INTS. Jax State would have gone deep in the playoffs if they werent on probation. Perriloux was sitting alot of games at the half because they were blowouts.

Well we can say he is staying out of more trouble then Perriloux

Without bothering to look at the game log, I seem to remember Jax State being less than impressive last year.

Posted by TT on AGS, I'm not sure why he did not put it on TSPN. According to this writer, he is one of the top QBs in the FCS.

Apologize for not posting it, I was so caught up in the focus of the article (a Southland quarterback), that I did not really get into who was listed...

Congrats to K.J. Black and if you read the AGS thread, you'll see some people sharing positives and negatives on the different QBs listed.

Elsewhere on AGS, some discussion pertaining to other skilled position players who are the top of their game.

You have to admit..... Black is a good QB. To be rated higher than Perriloux is awesome considering the fact the Perriloux has a FBS Championship ring
