Black conservative tea party backers take heat

ALBANY, N.Y. — They’ve been called Oreos, traitors and Uncle Toms, and are used to having to defend their values. Now black conservatives are really taking heat for their involvement in the mostly white tea party movement — and for having the audacity to oppose the policies of the nation’s first black president.

“I’ve been told I hate myself. I’ve been called an Uncle Tom. I’ve been told I’m a spook at the door,†said Timothy F. Johnson, chairman of the Frederick Douglass Foundation, a group of black conservatives who support free market principles and limited government.

“Black Republicans find themselves always having to prove who they are. Because the assumption is the Republican Party is for whites and the Democratic Party is for blacks,†he said. http://www.clarionledger.com/articl...lack+conservative+tea+party+backers+take+heat

"I think that is a fairly silly comment to make," Gibbs told reporters Monday morning, with a hard shot at the spending scandals afflicting the RNC under Steele: "I think Michael Steele's problem isn't the race card; it's the credit card."

:lmao: What a freaking monkey show.

The black woman has a bad weave is complaining about greed...where was the outage when during the Dick in the Bush years???

This is at Black Conservtives in VA got for their support

Despite previous governors' refusals, McDonnell issues Confederate history month proclamation

<!-- begin blogger thumbs --><!-- end blogger thumbs --><!-- end blogger thumbs -->Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) has quietly declared April 2010 Confederate History Month, bringing back a designation in Virginia that his two Democratic predecessors -- Mark Warner and Tim Kaine -- refused to do.
Republican governors George Allen and Jim Gilmore issued similar proclamations. But in 2002, Warner broke with their action, calling such proclamations, a "lightning rod" that does not help bridge divisions between whites and blacks in Virginia.

I never understood conservatives' fetish for all things confederate. Aren't they the epitome of anti-patriotism? I mean...its almost as if Conservatives go out of their way to appeal to racists.

Don't none of you mofo's ever talk about Mississippi again.
A whole month was carved out by the Governor.

I said it before and I'll say it again.:lecture:
All them states that clowned Mississippi because these necks here VOTED to keep the satars and bar's in the state flag would have that same flag flying if it was put to a vote in those states.
Everybody in Mississippi knew how that vote was going and when it happened, people was like OH well.....Fugg it.

People are not as forward thinking as they claim to be in those states and regions not named or nearby Mississippi.

People think Mississippi is racist, thats true, but its not upfront in your face like people make it out to be. Them fools hide like they always do and they will never try no stupid ish out in the streets. It would be a massacre lol

Umm Players, No one has ever tried to say that Old Virginny was progressive.. Don't let the 08 election fool ya.

North Carolina too. Yes they have their pockets of pure backwoodness, but at least those states can balance it somewhat with major metropolitan areas. Not in MS. There's Jackson, and that its.

VA is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more progressive than Mississippi. Don't get it twisted.

Northern VA is progressive and Liberal.. Beyond that, it is still old Virginny. Play around out there with DC tags on your vehicle and see how you are treated in the commonwealth :lecture:.

Throw the Tidewater Area (Hampton, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Newport News, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Portsmouth, and Williamsburg) and Richmond into those progressive areas. Now Lynchburg, Danville, and Martinsville is probably still old Virginny. Ironically, Roanoke, VA is somewhat progressive, even though it's located in the western part of the state. Virginia population is approximately 7.8 million. I believe Richmond's Metro Area is approximately 1.2 million and the Tidewater Area 1.8 million. Northern Virginia is consider part of the DC-Baltimore Metro Area.

Man please don't fool yoursleves, America as a whole isn't progressive. Some just understand tolerating us, tha don't mean they want you there.

Nope.
Don't YOU get it twisted.
There is a difference in PUBLIC APPERANCE and what actually happens on the ground.
You have fooled yourself if you think whites in Virginia are more foward thinking than whites in Mississippi.

At least in Mississippi, people know where you stand and it really ain't a big deal cause people will tell you str8 up on both sides of the color fence and move on..
In places like VIRGINIA and the upper East Coast, people always act so shocked when their rednecks prove to be no more progressive than their true southern counterparts.
People in those places talk like this kind of thinking don't exist in their regions and act all surprised when shat like this happens.

They act like they don't know CEE.
They just go along with the "Racisim is a southern thing" type of public image.
Sad part is that minorities in those regions fall for it hook, line, and sinker.
They act like Mississippi, Alabama, Louisana, and Tennessee are the only places that rednecks hold all the power.

That's what kill's me.
When people outside this region talk about Mississippi, you can tell they have not been within 1000 miles of this state in their lives.
Let people outside of this region tell it, blacks in Mississippi and the surrounding states are still barefoot sharecroppers living in shacks on the Plantation Owners land.
Let them tell it, the KLAN are still running black travelers off the back roads of Mississippi beating, robbing, and killing them.

If them mofo's ever tried that type of shat again, Iraq would not have shat on the pain these mordern day southern negro's would bring.

There's a big difference between MS and VA. Yes large parts of VA are as redneckish as any MS town. But at least there its offset by some progressive, metro areas. In MS, its like we're 95% rural. You have Jackson and thats it. No areas like Northern VA where you have enough population growth to moderate the redneckiest areas.

Tenn actually has some progressive traits. And you have your places like Idaho that can give MS a run for its money.

Everywhere in America is racist as far as I'm concerned. That's just the nature of this country. But let's be real - the South is different. You don't have Confederat History Month outside the South. States outside the south didn't adopt a racist flag as the official state flag. You don't have Stonewall Jackson this or Nathan Bedford Forrest that outside the South. In the South, we actually honor the confederacy where it's looked upon with disdain in other parts of the country. Things are different here. And this is coming from someone born and raised in the South with no plans to live anywhere else.

Yet the Governor felt comfortable enough to declare an entire month Confederate History Month without being scared of being run out of office.
So much for those "progressive" VIRGINIA areas and their clout.

I never said thing were not different.
I said OTHER STATES outside this region act like this kind of racism don't exist in their region.
Like the SOUTH is the only place when non-minorities think like rednecks.
Some of the most segregated and racist places in the country are in these progressive areas you speak of.

You black, walk your arse down the wrong hood in LA-(outlaw moter cycle gangs, ethnic gangs, police, watt's -vs- beverly hills), NEW YORK-(ethnic gangs, police, snobby citizens, Manhatten -vs- Harlem), VIRGINIA, Massachusett's (boston), MICHIGAN(Militias), The Northern Pacific States.
I'll gurantee you they will remind you just how black you are and how much redneckness they got in their bodies.

Just more cases of PUBLIC APPERANCE over ON THE GROUND REAL LIFE SUBSTANCE.
States outside the SOUTH would not dare do what Southern States did.
PUT THAT FLAG TO A PUBLIC VOTE instead of the State Lawmakers just ax'ing it out themselves because they know that same flag would be flying over damm near every capitol in the country when you give these "progressive" people a chance to make a private vote.
They can tell you they voted any way they want afterwards with a smile on their face..:lecture:
