Ain't No Sunshine when _____ gone...

chocalate_topaz

I wanna be your lover...
What are you missing out on in life, which, if were present you truly feel would just make things so much better. Cannot be money... And why haven't you attained/obtained whatever it is???

At this stage in my life, nothing. I really feel that I'm as close to where I'm suppose to (or need to) be in life at this time. There are a couple of things I want to accomplish, but it doesn't have to be today. I'm enjoying the pace that I'm at and thoroughly enjoying watching my son grow up. See that sweet face in my avatar?!?! <-------------

I need patience.

well, the only thing I can think of right off the top of my head is traveling. I have not been able to travel many places, but finances have been why. You said not to mention money, but oh well...that's my story and I'm sticking to it. :D

I don't really think I'm missing out on much more...as Crit stated above, there are things I'd like to accomplish, but that's life...there should always be goals one is trying to obtain constantly.

I don't really believe in praying for patience.
So, just keep yourself busy doing something until you get whatever it is you're seeking for.
Well, I prayed for patience and wish I had not...now, God is CONSTANTLY placing me in situations where I have to WAIT. That's why you have to be careful what you wish/pray for.

btw, I keep failing the test. :D

And that's EXACTLY why I don't pray for patience! I want God to know I'm impatient and to please grant me favor with the quickness.

Been there, too (failing those tests). Still failing them. Good thang God knows my heart.

I don't either, I just have to learn it to a degree. I tend to want things, now and right now. Folks crack jokes because I have had 5 jobs in the 3 years since I graduated from college but I explain that I can't stay at a place that I see no future for me at. I will have to stay at my current position atleast two years before I can move around the agency so that will be good for me. I will get a chance to build up relationships and finish my Master's...

I want to stay with the Department of Education and transfer over to the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

It's good to have an insatiable appetite for success. Just make sure you're only moving when God says move.

bless my heart...I need to just accept and embrace this FLAW of mine. :emlaugh:

I was born poor and more than likely die poor, therefore I don't miss what I have never had.

well now...that's a good way of lookin at it.

You are right. God has spoiled me to a degree so far, he has pretty much pushed me in the directions he wants me to go. Even, when I tried to fight against his will.

Confidence

You can build that up bruh... Just keep pushing. I had to learn this during my jobsearch. I applied to over 400 jobs in a 14 month timeframe. I interviewed like 12-15 times. I blew about 5 of them. If you are religous, pray and study your craft of what ever you want to become better at.

Quietness........Blessed Quietness I have.....everyday quietness however can be daunting to obtain. :(

I haven't obtained it because I haven't reached retirement yet...
Once that occurs, I'm going to get a lawn chair and go waaaaaaaay back in the country, sit by a pond and fish ALL DAY..........:D

We all have our crosses to bear. :D

Pop, be glad God has His loving arms around you! Sometimes we don't agree with the direction of our lives, but God knows what's best. That's why we have to thank Him for the open doors, as well as the closed doors!

Anonymous, dude, go on vacation! Live a little!

And Kendrick, believe in yourself. You are uniquely and wonderfully made by God. There are tons of Kendricks out there, but there is only one of YOU. You have gifts and purpose on this earth. If writing is your thing, do it to the glory of God. Claim those gifts with boldness and the uniqueness about yourself, and your confidence will blossom in its own time. Don't rush growing into yourself; enjoy life's journey. And stop trying to make yourself look older. You'll appreciate your youthful look as you get older.

Great posts, Crit.

I'm where I need to be. Peace, love, happiness, quietness... can't put a dollar tag on that. I'm likening myself to a turtle. I stick my head out the shell to take a look around every so often, move deliberately and very slowly w/ an objective in mind, and then when I detect danger, I stick my head back in the shell and wait for it to pass or travel back to one of the ponds for safety and respite lol.

Ummmmmmmmmm...:uhoh: cannot find quietness if one has a ball-and-chain anchoring them down. :read: I'm just sayin'. lol

 I think that pretty much sums it up for me. And u know I'm luvin the "turtle" analogy.

Other than lack of focus, I'm exactly where I want to be......"I'm good."

Some run the "race" and try to play the "game" w/out understanding or even inquiring about the distance of the run and understanding or inquiring about the objective of the "game." :read:

I'd hope everyone defines the parameters for their run to success and defines the objectives necessary to win whatever game they've created. :)

Boy, you too with old thing? A lot of my co-workers and my girl get on me for carrying myself like a conservative republican. I'm confident sometimes. It just I don't always trust my ability. But thanks for the words.
