well to be honest comegy is right
its was painfully obvious who the better team was....the talent level wasn't remotely even
but on the other side it makes comegy look bad for him not to beat teams that are beneath him. he needs to look at himself and correct his errors.
rhetoric won't help him next time

HUNTSVILLE TIMES

Five plays after Porch's interception, Mason found Thomas Harris with a 20-yard touchdown pass with 10:27 left in the third quarter. The two-point conversion failed, but A&M led 6-5.

A&M had a chance to add to its lead after Porch's second interception, but Jeremy Licea missed a 31-yard field goal on the first play of the fourth quarter.

However, it didn't matter as the Bulldogs' defense put the clamps on the Tigers' offense.

After A&M took the lead, the Bulldogs held the Tigers to 45 total yards. Starting with Porch's second interception, Jackson State went three-and-out on four of its last five possessions.

"Our guys played assignment football," A&M defensive coordinator Brawnski Towns said. "We realized in the first half they couldn't score on us. Our four-man pass rush was outstanding, and Rico did a good job attacking the football. Our defensive backs did a great job of not giving up any big plays."

Mason's 4-yard run and Licea's extra point gave A&M a 13-5 lead with 7:04 remaining and Jackson State didn't threaten again.

"This was a good team win," Jones said. "Offensively, we did enough to get the win and our defense played exceptional."

CLARIONLEDGER

In a year where points have been scarce - this was the worst offensive performance of them all.

Own it

Let's preface this with something first: I think Rick Comegy is a great defensive coach, a caring family man and a man of faith. But sometimes you have to accept the situation at hand.

After the game Comegy said the better team did not win Saturday.

To put it bluntly, a better team would have scored more than three offensive points. A better team would have taken advantage of the early field position and A&M turnovers. And as much as I hate to criticize the defense - because it's the only reason JSU was in contention in the first place - a better team wouldn't have given up three huge plays on A&M's second scoring drive.

Every week the offensive issues are blamed on execution. But after nine games of the same thing, that explanation doesn't hold water.

Jackson State was not the better team.

u shole iz right kareem copeland lol:lol:

Comegy's comments were so GRish and included a little TPish. What time did Comegy make those comments? Was it 13 minutes to 5?

No he isn't. The better team didn't win, but the better offensive coordinator did.
Our defense flat out dominated your offense and everyone who watched or listened to the game know it. A little help from the offense is all that was needed, but it never materialised.

Short 5-7 yard slant passes across the middle, screens and consistent running the ball would've killed AAMU's three man front and blitzing defense, yet our OC didn't have the sense to make such simple adjustments. This is why he won't be back next year.

Again, the better team did not win.

Ya'll jstankers trip me out, LOL!! When ya'll win, ya'll say the better team won. When ya'll lose, ya'll say the better team didn't win. This is why ya'll get so much shit on this board, talking all of this foolishness, even when you lose, LOL!! Using that logic, I guess ya'll think that way, with the exception of the Mississippi State game. The offensive AND defense combine as a TEAM, and the better TEAM won. You say that your defense dominated their offense, well being that your offense could only manage 3 points, I'd say their defense dominated your offense as well, LOL!!

When you have two good defensive teams playing each other. Coaches normally try to get into the fourth quarter with chance to win. Please note that when both teams were driving for a score, each defense stepped up and stopped the drives. True football fans know that if JSU had scored on those two drives it would have been all over for AAMU, however, it was the defense that stopped JSU. On the other side when Mason threw that slant for a touchdown, it was a great play. The score was 6-5 at that point. With JSU being behind they had to go after the lead, and our defense was able to handle the pressure. It is not about the best team, it is about who made the big plays in a tight ball game. AAMU made more plays than JSU and as a result JSU lost the game.

GR, was at the game and I was very happy the Sonic Boom did not show up. Without the bands for some teams it is hard for them to win.

No, it was our OC that stopped JSU.

somebody did on your first drive. Let me suggest that the next time you all play AAMU, you or GR get on that sideline with a set of earphones so you can really tell us if Bookman change the calls made by Woody. It was obvious that somebody did something to stop JSU Drive and it sure was not our defense. But on the other hand our defense may be so good it caused some confusion on your sideline.

Dam Mane....
........and to think about it........posters on this board use to give you credit for knowing something about football and Sports in general:no::no::no::no: There is nothing that can explain this kind of Tp-ish behavior out of you. You have either been drinking your own homemade hooch or you've been smoking your 25 year old dried gym socks if you believe the ridiculous snit you posted above.

Seriously, at best you have displayed your propensity for being quite delusional and it's not even time for the man in the red suit to come down the chimney and you're are having a hard time with reality now.

Read this STATEMENT Carefully: SEVERAL POSTERS (from every school in the SWAC) have told you (as far back as 1999) jsue's day in the Sun within the SWAC was over the day y'all started having to come through ALABAMA A&M and ALABAMA STATE to get to the SCG. Oh we might let y'all get there once every 10 years..........other than that, your day in the Sun was over when AAMU joined the SWAC and NO AMOUNT of WISHFUL THINKING on your behalf can change that.

BESIDES...........it's like SU, GRAM, ALcorn, TSU, UAPB, MVSU, Tn St, PVAMU, say..........

Y'ALL AIN'T THAT GOOD.......NEVER HAVE BEEN........NEVER WILL BE! :no::eek::eek::eek:

This is why you stankers are laughable at best...

You don't know how to admit you suck...

Who the fuk you think yall are? Yall are 3-6 brah.... Yall say the most retarded ishton here and wonder why everyone rip into yall dumb asses on here..

A&M is better than JSU...they proved it on the field of play. The 3-6 record is that way for a reason: Yall ain't any better than 3-6.

JSU had the better team.
Ya'll had the better of 2 sorry OC's.

OC's dont make a TE/WR miss a WIDE OPEN pass in the 4th quarter when the game is on the line.... JSU has no talent at key posistions. Your receivers CANT catch.

Losing to a school like AAMU is not a good thing. Next year, won't have mercy on ANY team. With a new OC and new life, JSU is going to run through all of you!

First it was LAST year... now its NEXT year LOL

TP you are horrible.

That can't be true... TP said that Comegy was the best recruiter in the conference. I can't believe their receivers can't catch... what about the kid who MADE Comegy guarantee him a starting spot? Surely, he can catch...it must be Woody's fault.

Yeah.
The offense
...........We been saying the OFFENSE/WOODY for 2 years now.

The defense stopped A@m on our side of the 50 all night long.
We all know about JSU's offense and lack of points but A@M been scoring point's all year and could not bust a grape until they took advantage of one of the many fuggups the offense been making all year.
JSU getting down to the 10 yard line and throwing int's or fumbling.

We held Tennessee State to 2 points forever until fuggups on offense and special teams did us in.

held UAPB in check but because of not being shat in the red zone, they hung around, scored 2 times in the last minutes and won in overtime.

Bigg.
We gave ya'll 2 td's and failed to score 3 or 4 times inside the 10 yard line on ya'll because of our offense fugging up.
Gram not as good as your record say's either if you want to look over the obvious.
If JSU had any kind of offense that can give us 24 point consistantly over 4 qtrs, nobody would beat us cause our defense would not burn out and would hold.

Players...

All that you said and have been saying about Woody has been said for the past 3 years or so... If you and a non-football guys like JayRob, GR, and TP can see it, then why can't Comegy? It's his job to make sure the coaches are coaching correctly and toward getting a win. So either he don't know shiit either or he doesn't give a damn as long as he gets his check.
