I'll go on record as saying I GROSSLY underestimated them for this game when I heard that Yao was out. This may be the best series of the playoffs, IF this keeps up.

Did I say Rockets in 5 before? Now I say 6 after this performance. The Lakers are just to damn inconsistent for me.

The Lakers got too many soft arse players with no heart. I thought they would seize the opportunity to put the Rockets away today. But Houston came out to play and the Lakers made no adjustments. Bynum has no confidence, Sasha got his money and aint playing as well as he did last year. Pau is great complimentary player but he aint hard enough to have to be the man up front by himself. He needs a hard center or forward to help him defend. Odom is just soft as tissue paper. Artest needs to take his NY city homeboy card from Odom.

I know Kobe has to be like damn.....these mofos aint got no heart. D. Fisher is too old to keep up with them young guards. He is now better to come off the bench. The Lakers should start Farmar or even Shannon Brown in my opinion. If they don't win the championship this year.......they gone have trouble the next couple of years unless they are able to pull off some free agent signing or trade to get some toughness add to that team. Houston, Portland, New Orleans, Denver will press them hard the next couple of seasons.

Oh well. I guess at least the series will be 6 games. If the Lakers let this go to 7, I aint so sure they will win it.

If Shannon Brown has to start for the Lakers to control a series, your basketball team is in trouble, my friend.

Hey, the Lakers aint my team. Actually I don't care if they lose to the Rockets, Denver, any team in the East. LOL. I was just saying Brown is younger and quicker than Fisher right now. Also he has a bigger upper body to defend.

Brown played for Izzo at MSU. Dude aint a stud.........but he aint that bad of a player. Just needs to be coached up and if he has a good supporting cast he will be fine. You act like he is pure garbage. He is alright. As long as he can play a little D and score like he did today when the opportunity is there. Then he is contributing better than Fisher can. Fish can't keep up with them youngsters. I would bring Fish off the bench with fresh legs to spell Farmar and Brown. Right now Brooks, Lowry and even V. Wafer are breaking down the Lakers at times.

Shannon Brown is an "athletic" player, but way too inconsistent of a player to be relied on offensively or defensively. I saw him play the last half of the regular season with the Bulls in 2008 after being traded from Cleveland.

Boy, he was all flash and no substance. It is a reason the guy has been on four teams since being drafted in the first-round in 2005 I believe.

Yeah, Brown got some points in garbage time, but I wouldn't put too much stock into that. Fisher, Ariza and Farmar have to play better. Andrew Bynum needs a search party to find him. I know a K-9 unit that specializes in such activities.

Kendrick, do you type shat just for the sake of typing sometimes? Shannon Brown has been nothing but impressive since he arrived in Los Angeles. Is he top flight? No. Is he ready to be the Lakers starting point guard? Probably not. But the guy is playing well and fits in well with the Lakers. I have been more impressed with him than Farmar and Fisher. He makes things happen when he comes in and can even shoot a little.

Ever since the Lakers made the trade for Brown you've been criticizing this cat because of what you saw when he played for the Bulls. I didn't know he played for the Bulls so when I looked at his profile I noticed that he played a full 22 minutes while he was with them. So you're basing his "flash and no substance" on what he did in 22 minutes of play with the Bulls? LOL. What a freakin' joke.

And this stuff about him being with 4 teams. So the hell what? Chauncey Billups, the guy you called "great", played with four teams (Boston, Toronto, Denver and Minnesota) in his first three year just like Brown has. That didn't stop him from becoming a really good point guard. And by the way, Brown is not just scoring in garbage time and you know it.

Like I said earlier, if the Lakers need Shannon Brown to provide them a spark to beat the Yao and McGrady-less Rockets, the squad is in trouble. That means Farmar, Fisher and Ariza and Sasha have "wet the bed" as Kobe would say.

To compare Brown to Billups is reaching. Really reaching. Yes, Billups was traded a few times and took time to develop, but you could see the guy had it. Brown has never averaged more than 4 points a game in his career.

A better comparison would have been J.R. Smith. Brown could play for seven more years and never be as good as Billups was when he was in Boston.

No one is comparing Brown to Billups in respect to how good either one of them is. I was alluding to the fact that you've mentioned several times that he has played with four teams in his career. So get out of here with this "reaching" bullshat because you know that's not what I was getting at.

But yanno, you aren't missing a beat with this. Your hate for Kobe Bryant has been driving you to post anything you can about the Lakers in a negative light. You're as bad as bandboy from SU and some of the other Kobe haters that post here.

1. Please, don't compare me to a member of any band. I rather be compared to James Bell than a band member.

2. I really don't hate Kobe Bryant. The guy is a great basketball player and I will take him on my team any day. Darn it, that almost happened...I think.

See, some people get so defensive when it comes to Kobe. Even when I or others don't post anything thing directly related to Kobe.

Or like you have by saying I'm ripping Shannon Brown because I hate Kobe. Never wrote one word about Kobe. I just think Brown is not a good basketball player.

I know Friday I wrote the whole Manny-Kobe comparison thing and someone chimed in " Kobe is better than LeBron." What? :noidea:

Any team that needs to rely on the 9th or 10th guy off the bench to win a series is not in too good of a situtation. Hell, if the Celtics need Big Baby Davis to hit game-winning jumpers, I don't think Boston is going to repeat as champs.

Just maybe......he didn't get any good coaching in Chicago. Some players need to be with the right team and coaching staff. In Cleveland they needed him to score to take pressure off LeBron....not that he really got that much of a chance. That's what coaching up means. How many players have looked lost or didn't reach their potential until they got to the right team and was in the right situation.

He can be a good supporting cast player. He is athletic......Fisher is not anymore. So he can get in front of Brooks better. Plus the Lakers have a better staff than he has ever played for. So for you to say the Lakers can't count on him is foolish. They aint asking him to win the game. Just to contribute. I think he has shown he can do that.

Kendrick,

Shannon Brown only needs to be a decent role player, and that's what he has been for the Lakers this post-season. The Bulls probably wanted him to be a much bigger piece, or you maybe expected him to be more than a role player, but that is all he needs to be with the Lakers. Play defense on the other team's PG enough to limit his shots and make him turn it over some, hit some open shots, and run the floor.

You spoke negatively of Tyrus Thomas and Joakim Noah also, and those dudes stepped up big time for the Bulls in the post season.

I'll just sum this up as "You don't know basketball".

2. I really don't hate Kobe Bryant.
Dude you are a liar. You are a top-flight hater. Anything Kobe or Laker related you have something negative to add.
See, some people get so defensive when it comes to Kobe. Even when I or others don't post anything thing directly related to Kobe.
I don’t get “so defensive†about Kobe. It’s just that at every turn in the road there’s something negative said about him or the Lakers. If I had the time I’d go back and chronicle every NBA related thread on TSPN over the last three to four years and I’m willing to bet over 80% of them has to do with Kobe and/or the Lakers.
Or like you have by saying I'm ripping Shannon Brown because I hate Kobe. Never wrote one word about Kobe. I just think Brown is not a good basketball player.
You’re ripping Shannon Brown because he is a Laker. Period. And why do you not like the Lakers? Because Kobe is one.
I know Friday I wrote the whole Manny-Kobe comparison thing and someone chimed in " Kobe is better than LeBron." What? :noidea:
STC_60 posted that and doesn’t hide the fact that he doesn’t like Kobe Bryant. I don’t know what made him post that but you better believe he wasn’t trying to defend him.

Another asinine statement that shows you don’t know shat.

See, the problem with Shannnon Brown is that fans believe he is a player the Lakers need right now. There is no way the Lakers fan should have to say, "The Lakers should play Shannon Brown more." No. That is like Bulls fans of the 90s saying, "Hey, they need to play Jud Buchler more."

All Brown should be is a guy who gives Fisher or Farmar and Sasha a blow. Not to play more minutes in a playoff series where you are tied without the other team's two best players. If he has to play more minutes, that means the team is failing.

Oh, Tyrus Thomas is freakishly athletic and can block shots and dunk, but he still scares the hell out of me. The man only played 16 minutes in Game 7 against because he wanders out there too much and is not an offense threat at all because he has no move.

I'll give Noah credit, the guy improved a lot as the season went on and played well in the playoffs. However, the Bulls will not win a championship with those cats as the front court. They don't scare anybody in the post. Now, you get a legit big man like Bosh or Boozer, then Noah is more valuable.

When were the Lakers dependent on a 9th or 10th guy off the bench to win a series? LOL!!

Why does it matter to you that people say or write negative things about the Lakers and Kobe Bryant?

You don't have a problem with all the Kobe Bryant is a genius or he is best player in the world or he is better than LeBron and Jordan threads. Again, I don't hate Kobe. But you Lakers fans are defensive.

Now that's what I call logic. LOL. SMH @ that means the team is failing.

How do you know what I have a problem with? Aside from the genius talk, the Lebron and Jordan thing has been discussed over and over but that pales in comparison to all the Kobe/Laker hate threads (i.e. Manny being Kobe). By the way, Kobe will never be Jordan.

Again, I don't hate Kobe.
Yes you do.

What's the difference (in your opinion) of the Lakers using Brown now as compared to using Tyron Lue against the 76ers in the finals a few years ago?

See, OK, the title was senationalistic. I agree. But me comparing Manny to Kobe was not hate. It was a comparison of two big L.A. sports stars getting themselves in some trouble off the field. Heck, nobody thought I was hating on Manny even though I called him a cheater and would likely not make the HOF.

I am glad you said Tryon Lue. Shannon Brown is just like Lue. I mean, he was guy who manned up on Kobe in the Finals and everyone was on his bandwagon. Where is Lue now?
