You got all that from Game3?...:goof:

Wow. This thread is a new level of low rent. You must've put in your most pressurized prayer this morning.

Good game, Lakers. Rockets played horrible tonight.

...on to game 4.

Ps- How bout that BS flagerant 2 for Artest? I guess that was as bad as Fisher's shoulder.

The Lakers are just a better team. Talent will always prevail in the long haul. The Rockets dont have the stamina and skill to keep up with Kobe.

now jay...u know that dude is going to come in here and smack u silly.

I thought it was suppose to be on for game 3. wasn't this suppose to be your revenge game? not only did u lose you got tapped 14. yall are not a threat to the mighty lakers....period

The Rockets will not win this series because they lack toughness or skilled players. Houston does not have a Kobe Bryant typer play on their team. That is the difference. Yao and Artest try to be those players, but they can't win you a championship alone. Artest can't carry a team in a seven-game series against Kobe Bryant. Yao can't either.

I hate to say this, but the Rockets need McGrady. He is a guy who can take over the game and lead you to a championship with the help of Artest and Yao. Wafer, Brooks and Battier and Scola would be better if McGrady was healthy and in uniform. Role players without legit stars don't win series against one of the best players in the world.

did you see the rockets running their offense thru von wafer at the end of the game....everytime he had the ball I smiled

The Lakers won but goodness sometimes it's so hard to sit and watch them play. Lamar Odom and Sasha Vujacic make me sick.

I have a question
aint battier and artest suppose to be good defenders
aint they like first team all defense?
then why is kobe averaging 35 points a game on them?
kobe is making an effort to show them busters up....if they weren't trying so hard kobe wouldn't dig so deep in them every game

how many times did kobe block yaos shot? man he is really kobes beyotch.
Yao hates for Kobe to be anywhere near him. He hadn't got over that dunk Kobe did on him when he first arrrived in the NBA. That's why he blinks so much when the Rockets play the Lakers.

That three at the end of the 3rd quarter was straight up ridiculous. Artest bodied him up as much as he could but it didn't matter. The thing that amazes me more than anything is when Kobe takes shots like that he doesnt hit glass or get lucky rolls. In the words of old Joe Dean "nothing but string music".

I am very SUprised that Kobe isn't a former Southern U running gunning basketball alum. I guess he went to the league directly from high school....

Add Luke to that list.

Odom will do better against Denver. Vuluchic and Luke just suck. We up by ten and Walton taking shots at the top of the key. man pass the dayum ball to some real scorers. Just play defense and pass the ball. And Sasha shot went south against Boston last season and has not shown back up..

Don't forget Farmar and him stepping up to play excellent offense and defense. I hope he gets more playing time.
Even Bynum stepped up a little bit, which is good to see.
And I STILL don't see and STILL can't fathom why Luke Walton gets so much playing time.

P.S.....Over the last nine games, the Lakers are 7-2 against the Rockets and ended their nine game home winning streak.

I still don't understand why folks are saying the Rockets present matchup problems for the Lakers, when it's the other way around.

did the sports writer above say that the rockets need mcgrady to lead them to the championship? tracy mclady can't lead a team out of the first round, how the hell is he going to lead a team to a championship.

I been saying for a while that odom sasha and farmar are the dumbest ass players I have ever seen. I can live with luke, he does a decent job on defense and he will make an open shot.

farmar does dumb shit like take jumpers at the end of the game up by 10 with plenty of time left on the shot clock.

and why did luke kick that ball and get a tech. when he fouled the dude I saw it coming.

maybe we scrutinize them too harshly, but the do some dumb shit

Kobe is just flat out better. Better than anybody else in the league.

The purest jumper.

The best closer.

A truly skilled player.

Yes, Kobe Bryant is a fantastic and gifted basketball player. But I don't think he has the purest jumper. It could be argued that Ray Allen has a better one. In fact, Bryant himself said Mike Miller has the best jumper in the NBA right now.

Yes, the Lakers have had great seasons the last two years. But can you objectively say Bryant is the league's best closer, especially during postseason play?

In the 2006 NBA playoffs, the Lakers were up 3-1 to the Suns and lost the series. In 2007, the Lakers were bounced from the playoffs again by those pesky Suns.

In the 2008 NBA Finals, the Lakers had a 24-point lead against Boston in Game 4 and lost. With the season and the championship on the line in Game 6, Bryant and the Lakers lost to the Celtics by 39. The largest defeat in the history of the NBA playoffs in an elimination game.

Kobe might be a great regular season closer, but his postseason save percentage has taken a tremendous hit the last three seasons.

I don't know Shaw. The Nuggets have better talent up front than the Rockets. Carmelo, Nene, and Kenyon Martin are better scorers than what Odom is facing right now.

Like I said in the other thread. The Rockets don't have enough firepower to beat L.A. in a 7 game series. But Denver has enough with Billups added to the mix.

They will not turn the ball over like the Rockets.....on the flip side.....they do not have multiple folks to run at Kobe. But who does. The key to beating L.A. is to punk the supporting cast like the Celtics did last year. Make Kobe not trust his team mates because they are getting beat. Then he will try to do it all by himself. If I was coaching against them. I would immediately go at Odom and Gasol and pressure the PG spot. Brooks is a nice PG for Houston and the backups are decent. But none of them is causing the Lakers a headache, like a Billups could. Billups on the Rockets would have this series tied I believe because he can score and defend. Plus he got size.

Not that I am totally counting Houston out. But the next series should be Denver and L.A for the West title. I think it will be an even better series than this one. Yao just can't get up and down the court all game. This is where the Rockets miss that weak arse T-Mac. LOL.

...Hey, GR. Ima need you to pay better attention to detail, if you're going to try and point fingers, bruh. Seeming as I don't do the whole pregame trash-talk'n thing....you sound even further from reality than you usually are.

I always type...."On to game __"...meaning, the game is over, on to the next game. Not "it's on for game __". What revenge do the Rockets need? It was tied at 1 game with us stealing home court in Game 1.

Maybe, to you and the Lakers new found toughness this was a revenge game for the Rox, cuz you thought the Rox were all-of-a-sudden intimindated. But, I, nor, any other Houston thought like that.

As for the game...
To me, both teams played sub-par. Ive seen both teams play a whole lot better. Kobe played well and Odom, although still nothing to fondle all over, finally, showed some signs of testicular fortitude. The Rockets played their worst game, by far, in the playoffs. Most of it being from no other faults but our own. Ain't like the Lakers played some shut down D. This was on the minor details of Rockets ball.

I still don't see this dominant Lakers team that some of you Laker fans see. As bad as the Rox played, the Lakers should've blown the doors off of the Rox. But, that didn't happen.

The Rockets won't play that bad again. I feel good about 4.

Hey GR. Pay attention this time.
....on to Game 4

This is where the Rockets miss that weak arse T-Mac. LOL.

Man, fugg him. His playoff mentality doesn't extend pass the first round.

:smh:....I knew, as soon as they showed him on TV, that we were in trouble for Game 3. Every since that Bulls game, right after he got hurt for the season, if he sat on the bench, we lose. I think we have 1 win with him on the bench.

Man, I think people are holding on to lost hope with this guy. This dude is not coming back and being the player he once was. I hope the Rockets FO sees this. You need a more tough and heady game, like Grant Hill, to be able to recover from that surgery. And, you have to be able to benefit in other ways, other than how you did before.

I been saying for a while that odom sasha and farmar are the dumbest ass players I have ever seen. I can live with luke, he does a decent job on defense and he will make an open shot.

GR, I agree with you about Sasha. He makes me want to pull the hair out of my head at times...and I don't even have no hair. I don't know what the hell happen to him this year. Funny how this all happens after he gets that new contract. He has always been a streaky shooter, but he can't even pull off a streak. Right now he is a better on defense than he is on offense...and that is not saying much at all.

Odom is Odom. He is what he is.

But I disagree with Farmar. Farmar has some game. And he can/has made an impact at times coming off the bench. For a second year player, I think he is OK.

But I will say this...Shannon Brown is a player. Its funny how when the Lakers traded V. Rodmanovic to Charlotte Adam Morrison was suppoesd to be the key player. The Lakers were hoping to use him for his 3-point ability and Shannon Brown was to be a throw in to make the trade work. But Brown tuned out to be the key player. He can play the point, but if the Lakers need to make him a 2 guard I say do it and site Sasha's ass on the bench.

TMac was the only one who showed up in your 3 previous playoff appearances. I criticize the hell outta him but in the playoff he does his thing.

Dude, the Lakers won by 14, not by one or two points.

The Rockets are who they are, and as far as them not playing that way again, it's not like they played bad. They only average 95 points a game, yet scored 94, so in actuality, they played over their head and still got tapped.

The Rockets are who they are, a second-tier NBA team. They're not in the league of the Lakers, plain and simple. Folks tried to tell some this, but they refused to listen.

Oh, if some want to see a replay of the Laker/Houston game, it's on the NBA channel from 1pm to 3pm. Hey Blade, you may want to check it out again.
