You HAVE to use those tax loopholes and breaks in order to avoid paying as much. There is nothing wrong with it legally.

In the article it states that when the bank changed hands, it went out of its way to help the US citizens defraud the government. That is what got them in trouble and put them in a position to have to reveal the names.

I read where it said the bank changed hands, but the US government has no authority over the Swiss government, so I guess I didn't see that as being the catalyst for bank revealing any names. I just know there has to be more to the story than the the Swiss banking system suddenly wanting to come clean..

I guess I'm too much of a good Christian that believe in the honor system, because loopholes are like looking for that opening in the fence to get in the game for free or finding the key to your final exam so you don't have to study to pass your class. Seems like a lot of Republicans used loopholes to get to the top. "The Party of Loopholes"

I understand your viewpoint, I just disagree. I am not talking about doing anything illegal. I am simply talking about finding tax shelters, investement opportunities, etc. that will help lesson my tax burden. I am not trying to get audited, I just don't want to keep paying taxes every year.

Maybe, if we got rid of all loopholes and tighten up the tax structure, maybe everyone could pay their fair share of reasonable taxes. LoopHOLES are just another way to destabilize the economy. We Americans should be fiscally responsible to create a financial system without any loopHOLES, which guarantees our great democracy the ability to survive long into the future.

LoopHOLES creates major problems, such as, the design loopHOLES that allowed the levee system in New Orleans to fail. The levees were never design to protect residential development. The primary purpose of the levees was to convey water away from the city and into Lake Pontchartrain, which is why the Corp wasn’t responsible for human life. The levee loopHOLES happened when nobody considered replacing them for the protection of human life. And the only way to assure maximum protection is remove all loopHOLES by properly funding the necessary research projects for the best protection system. Creating financial loopHOLES are the first steps to failure. Common sense tells us that holes in a ballon would cause it to deflate.

The goal of the UN is to have all banks under one banking system and that system is the "One World Government". IMO, lives have been threatened/bribed to surrender the names or become a casualty.

and folks wonder why stuff isn't working right. You got a whole tax bracket missing funds. middle and lower class folks getting destroyed by taxes, but these nukkas getting over. Pull they skirts up and maybe they will be able to fix this infrastructure and what-have-you.

This is true. The middle and lower income brackets have gotten screwed by the a lot of conservative based economic policies that we have had for the last 28 years.

Been doing some reading, and what I have learned is that the only way the actal names will be released is if the US files charges against the indivduals. But of they settle ther tax debt, then you will never know if they were on this list or not.

Plus, with the deal, the Swiss bank is only required to release the names of 250-300 clients. Well that, and that 780 million dollar payment.......

Please tell that to all the folk who are selling/buying kids due to the Earned Income Credit $$$$... man, I could tell you stories. I know guys who were claiming kids who were not their's to get the EIC. Once they learned that
the IRS was on the lookout for males claiming kids with different names, the dudes got smart and just filed a joint return with the momma's and had the money sent direct deposit or just cashed the check and paid em off from the proceeds.

This is my idea of what i belive happened....The US have something valuable to the swiss banks or made one hell of a threat and the swiss banks agreed to comply. They will pay the US restitution and release the names and then the US will tax/penalize the people....either way....we win....twice. The prez-o-dent is not playing!!!! We gone cut the national debt.
