Bush-era energy drilling leases in Utah canceled

In its first action to overturn Bush administration policies on energy, the Obama administration on Wednesday said it will cancel oil drilling leases on more than 130,000 acres near two national parks and other protected areas in Utah.

"In the last weeks in office, the Bush administration rushed ahead to sell oil and gas leases near some of our nation's most precious landscapes in Utah," Interior Secretary Ken Salazar told reporters. "“We need to responsibly develop our oil and gas supplies to help us reduce our dependence on foreign oil, but we must do so in a thoughtful and balanced way that allows us to protect our signature landscapes and cultural resources."

"We will take time and a fresh look at these 77 parcels to see if they are appropriate for oil and gas development," he said, adding that the Bureau of Land Management will return the $6 million in bids from an auction last December.

Rest story

Dumb move Obama. :smh:
He we go.
Cowering under to anyone that can whine about anything. :smh:
In the meantime, these same mofo's will shat all over themselves crying about the Saudi Arabia, etc., and South America charging so much for their resources while our's sit in the ground. :smh:

Everything in NATURE is a natural resource to generate energy, such as wind, solar, natural gas, running water, compost, manure, landfill gas, etc. Why are we so stuck on oil drilling?

Coal..........No environmental group want's new coal producing factory's. The mining, processing( run off), etc.

Wind.........Senator Kennedy lead the charge to kill a windmill farm 20 miles off the East Coast because the community said it would spoil their view. Same in cally. The only place this is happening is the Mid-west and environmental groups are now saying the windmill's kill migratory birds and want the one's that are up torn down.

Solar..........Community covent's prevent people from installing solor panel's on their roof tops. That's the reason hardly anyone in Cally and these other sunny places don't have them even though the price has dropped nearly 60% to have them installed.

Natural Gas........JUST READ THE STORY ON THIS TITLE THREAD. This hude supply of Natural Gas under the Dakotas and other areas near there is what's being killed.

Running Water........Who gonna allow a dam to be built nowdays to produce electricity? They busting dam's right now to let salmon and other fish repopulate areas that were cut off during the dam building boom of the 50's and 60's.

Compost, manure, and landfill gas.
All sound good but who is pushing this.

So in the meantime.......(the next 30 years)........what is going to be used to fuel cars, factory's, make product's, etc., besides oil in those decades this is being developed.:noidea:

And BTW:
Ethonol cost damm near tripple the price and uses 4 times more oil to produce as opposed to gas.

There are just as many environmental groups that oppose oil drilling. The real problem began years ago when corporate greed from the oil and gas industry drove the American public to almost be solely dependent on oil. Somehow a balance needs to drawn for all energy sources, which is the same for our mode of transportation, such as planes versus trains.

The most sense I've heard from anyone during this economy downturn is let the oil industry bailout the auto industry since two go hand and hand. Without the auto industry the oil industry wouldn't be as rich.

I know.
That's why damm near 95% of the U.S. coast line and any place on land that drilling may take place get's bogged down in lawsuit's and bullshat.

The oil companies are just making profit off their product.
They spend billion's on research and exploration and get billion's back when they take the risk.
This may not be popular thought, but it is the truth and can't be changed by all the protesting in the world.
The truth just get lost.

Mexico and countries in South America drill off their coast's and have discovered enough oil to make them independant and a exporter of oil to the U.S.

They discovered a reserve in the Gulf off the Texas coast that dwarf's the reserves that have been discoveded in U.S. water's to date.
All other sites are off limit's and that includes all of the Florida and East coast.
Cally may as well be thrown into it cause they have not did any new drilling or exploration off the west coast since the 1970's.

And again.
What do we use while all these other option are being developed? :noidea:

I agree that we have to continue to use what we have until other technologies develop, but it's no secret or catch phrase that oil companies along with other industries spent billions to push the maximum use of their product on the world. In past years, oil, auto, and rubber companies bought up all the transit rail lines in the world so people would be forced to travel mainly by car or bus, which is one of the reasons why Los Angeles has one of the largest freeway system in the world. Currently, Los Angeles is spending and has spent billions in federal tax dollars to install a new transit rail system.

A consortium of oil, rubber, General Motors and other companies bought up rail lines worldwide then replaced interurbans and streetcars with buses. By 1961 the last remaining interurban rail line in Los Angeles went out of service and in 1963 the last streetcar line shut down.

When car's became popular and cheap enough for Joe Blow to buy, nobody road the rail's anymore within cities.
Calli has been #1 in car ownership for half a century simply because all these Green people will not give up their freedom no matter how hard they protest.
You got brand new rail system's in cities now that are empty for lack of use.
The only places that rail's are used by the masses like in the old day's are Chicago and new York.

Road Construction was part of the New deal.
They put up roads and highway's everywhere.
That land would have been bought by someone.
If not oil companies, it would have been developer's that needed the land.

Don't get me wrong.
I think the rail's should be expanded in every way.
They can make money leasing use space to private train owner's.
Let them file a travel plan just like owner's of airplanes have to file a flight plan.

Why can't people own train's like people own jet's. :noidea:
If I had the choice, I would buy my own custom luxury, 7 car train over a plane anyday.

Unlike other modes of transportation, trains have various type of power sources, such as coal fired steam engines, diesel electric engines, electric engine, or maglev engines. Which type of power source would you use to propel your train?

I personally like the maglev engine since it's the fastest, but some people prefer the much slower coal fired steam engine.

Players, I see you've been doing your research. Welcome to the club of hidden knowledge and truth. IMO, Obama and most Dems are paid to shut down our energy system just like they were paid to set up the deal to purchase 70% of our oil from overseas. I blame the idiot republicans for allowing this to happen, and Bush should have issued an executive order to allow drilling in 2001. IMO, America has lost its freedom.

You say President Barack Hussein Obama and most Democrats are getting paid to shutdown this country's energy system, but the Republicans allowed it to happen. Seems to me they are all getting paid.

Without quoting bible scriptures, do you have proof that President Barack Hussein Obama and most Democrats are getting paid to shutdown the energy system?

The Rothschild Bloodline

THE ROTHSCHILDS AS "PROPHETS"

One item stands out as a person listens to the International Bankers and reads their books. They believe money is what makes the world go round. If you have money, you can do anything. Money is "God", and it is worshipped and served. Even after these families accumulate more than can be spent, these devotees continue selling their souls for this false but powerful god. The great poet-philosopher Heinrich Heine (a Banker’s son) said, "Money is the god of our time, and Rothschild is his prophet."6 Following the cue of the Rothschilds, Heinrich Heme, a Jew, signed his name by drawing a Seal of Solomon.7 Amsel Rothschild is reported to have said, "Give me control of the economics of a country; and I care not who makes her laws. (8) Today his descendents meet twice daily in London to dictate to the world what the world price of gold will be. They also dictate what the "Federal Reserve System" will do with America’s finances.

ANOTHER GOD TOO

According to eye-witnesses, who were prominent enough to visit one of the British Rothschild homes, the Rothschilds worship yet another god too, Satan. They set a place for him at their table.(8a) The Rothschilds have been Satanists for many generations. The Rothschilds are an important part of the history of the Seal of Solomon (also known as hexagram, Magen David, six-pointed star, Star of David.) The Seal of Solomon, the hexagram, was not considered a Jewish symbol before the Rothschilds began using it. http://www.theforbiddenknowledge.com/hardtruth/the_rothschild_bloodline.htm

The Rockefeller Bloodline

A BRIEF SURVEY OF THE ROCKEFELLER’S INFLUENCE
The Rockefellers have divested much of their holdings into places which they control, but nominally they are not owners of. The Rockefellers financial power Is far greater than the balance sheets would indicate. The Rockefellers can give donations from an organization which they control to another that they control, and not lose any control over the money. The donations look Impressive, but the Rockefeller bloodline hasn’t lost. Have you ever noticed that Rockefeller’s Standard Oil uses the satanic pentagram in a circle as their logo? Just three of countless Rockefeller companies are Texas Instruments and General Electric, and Eastman Kodak. The Rockefellers also control Boeing. This author (Fritz Sprlngmeier) has repeatedly been given information from numerous sources about the occult activities that are being perpetrated at the Boeing plants in the Seattle area. Monarch programming has even taken place at a Boeing Plant. All these things fit together when one gets the bigger picture and the inside scoop. The Rockefellers also control Delta. Has anyone realized that the Delta symbol is a very widely used satanic symbol? Is It any wonder so many Illuminati and CIA, and world financiers, and people like Chuck Colson (see the exposes on Chuck Colson in 93’s newsletters) use Delta to fly on.
My notes are lost, hut suffice It to say the Rockefellers own land all over South America. The Rockefellers own land most anywhere anyone would want to visit in the US. from Hawaii to Texas to Florida and Seal Harbor, Maine. Notice how often Bush would go to Maine when he was President?

Hey.:retard:
I gotta call it like it is.

2nd dumb ass energy move by Obama and his team.
Revoking this and the natural gas tract's under the dakota's is just plain stupid. :smh:
I guess next to go are the Texas/louisana/Mississippi/Alabama tract's in the Gulf that have been approved for exploration. :smh:

Obama overturn's Bush era off-shore drilling off the Atlantic and pacific coast's.

WASHINGTON
- The Obama administration on Tuesday overturned another Bush-era energy policy, setting aside a draft plan to allow drilling off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts

The enviro-nuts should not be concerned about US oil companies drilling offshore. Most rigs are so far out, they cannot be seen from shore. When I was on Penrod #59 in the Gulf of Mexico, we were seventy miles out from Dulac, Louisiana. The entire operation was so clean, we were not even allowed to throw a cigarette butt off the rig. As a matter of fact, fish swarmed around the rig structure. Everyone complains when gasoline prices go up, but no one wants to drill for the oil we have in our own country. Go figure!
