Organizers of the annual State Fair Classic football game between Gambling State and Prairie View A&M kicked off a weeklong list of activities with a press conference held at Dallas City Hall on Monday.
The presser featured Grambling head coach Broderick Fobbs and Prairie View A&M head coach Eric Dooley making his first official visit to the event after being absent last year due to illness.
Grambling athletic director David Ponton and Prairie View A&M interim AD Alicia Pete were also present, with each taking a moment to speak about their appreciation for the City of Dallas hosting the event.
The Panthers (1-3, 1-1 SWAC) will be entering Saturday’s contest on a three-game losing streak after losing their first conference game last Saturday to Alcorn State, 45-41.
Fresh off of their 23-20 loss to Alabama State last Saturday to begin conference play, the Tigers (0-3, 0-1 SWAC) are still looking for their first win of the season.
Kickoff Saturday is set for 4 p.m. and will be played at the Cotton Bowl
