Florida State is renovating Doak Campbell Stadium, and since this is the season of giving, the school has decided to extend that goodwill to Florida A&M.
Florida State will donate its old scoreboard to FAMU while the school prepares to install a new one.
According to the Tallahassee Democrat, Florida State donated the scoreboard free of charge, though FAMU will have to dish out $125,000 to install and program it.
“We hope this is the beginning of an enhanced relationship with FSU to bring maximum value to our collective fans, FAMU Athletic Director Milton Overton said. “This also falls in line with Dr. Mangum’s vision of best-in-class in all areas of our institution.”
“The on-going renovations to Doak Campbell Stadium provided Florida State Athletics an opportunity to work with Florida A&M athletics on some of its athletics priorities,” Wilcox said.
“We will continue to look for opportunities to work together in the future.”
This is great news.
