Temps in the 70s. Caressing breezes. A cloudless, Columbia blue sky.
"It feels great out here," quarterback Thomas Ricks said. "We were blessed."
In rare conditions, more like an October afternoon and certainly a far cry from the usually suffocating mid-August Louisiana heat, Southern worked through 15 periods, concentrating mostly on formations and calls. Though the practice was lengthy, the work was relatively light, and there were no fatigue problems.
