HOUSTON - Texas Southern University’s law school is certainly happy after getting a hefty donation from a very bookish attorney.
Wednesday, long-time Texas lawyer and known higher-education philanthropist Joe Jamail donated his $3 million law library to TSU’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law. TSU says that collection includes 1,000 volumes.
Nicknamed the “King of Tortsâ€, Jamail became famous for winning a $500,000 award for an electrician who lost his hands due to a faulty electrical box in the 1970s.
