Nice facility.
Good baseball weather.
Shortstops for PV, Alcorn, Valley, and SU made great plays in the tourney.
Revis went all out and nearly took the fence out.......play similar to Jeter's.

There were not many home runs but when someone hit 1, they were
jaw-dropping. The homers by Pearson of Bama, 'the catcher' of Alcorn, and
McCollum of all people.

Heard tourney will be played in Pearl next year. Hopefully, this will become a big event with a larger attendance. PV and Alcorn had good fan turnout.

BTW, Cox made all-tourney.......:smh:  :what:

Oh yeah, congrats pv...:kaioken: :redhot: :kaioken:

If we coulda gotten out of the 5th......:redhot: :redhot:

PV heads to baseball's big dance

PEARL, MISS. - Calvin Lester drove in Eugene Edwards with the go-ahead run in the eighth inning Sunday, and Prairie View A&M won its first Southwestern Athletic Conference tournament by downing Alcorn State 3-2.

The victory earns Prairie View (33-20) a spot in the NCAA tournament.

The Braves would have had to have beaten the Panthers twice for the title. Prairie View starter Wrandal Taylor (10-2), a former star at Beaumont Ozen, helped ensure a second game wasn't necessary by limiting Alcorn State (29-17) to two runs in seven innings.

Spring Woods product Joshua Terrell got the save with a scoreless eighth and ninth at Trustmark Park.

Edwards and Roshard Shorter had the Panthers' two other RBIs.
