Southern U. Grad Selected to be Langston's New President

Ohio University's Vice President of Student Affairs has been named the next president of Langston University.

O.U. President Roderick McDavis sent an e-mail to the campus community making the announcement.

"I extend heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Kent Smith on being named the next president of Langston University," says McDavis.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Smith was one of four finalists for the position at the historically black university located in Oklahoma.

Smith received both his bachelor's and master's from Southern University in Baton Rouge before obtaining his doctorate from Colorado State University.
