SMH @ the SWAC East: Alcorn State and Jackson State

How is this Duer's fault? He's merely the messenger. He didn't impose sanctions, the NCAA did. He didn't warrant the sanctions, su did.
Duer declared the rules for SWAC schools with NCAA post season bans and before you go on about he is doing the bidding of the presidents the commissioner should make the ramifications known about what could happen and the different scenarios should teams with NCAA sanctions participate in SWAC post season tournaments and championship games.

I'm really confused as to why this is a problem. It's not like they were just made up and it most certainly isn't anything new.

For the reasons already pointed out.

I'm sorry I guess I missed something along the way. Are you saying you have a problem with the commissioner
1. Following ncaa guidelines?

2. That he didn't just go over the school president's head and arbitrarily make up a policy?

If not would you clarify what and also why or what is your concern about him not doing what you think he should have now done three years later after the facts?

I really would like clarification on my question or I'll just have to assume this has more to do with pettiness than it does substance .

The problem with the commish on this is why allow a team that can't participate iin the Celebration Bowl participate in the SWAC Championship? Because if that team were to win, that team still can't represent the conference. Then it has to be explained to the entire nation why the conference champ could not play in the Celebration Bowl. Then other people will question the logic of allowing a team that can't advance pass the Conference Championship playing in it.

That's all fine and dandy for an opinion but base on fact THE PRESIDENTS of each school unanimously voted for this 3 years ago and there is nothing in the NCAA regulations that requires a conference to do otherwise.

Now if this was a concern three years ago when it was first brought up people might have a slight leg to stand on for complaining but regardless THE PRESIDENTS of each school unanimously voted for it. As for it having to be explain to the entire nation why the conference champion could not play in the Celebration Bowl don't kid yourself into thinking the entire nation cares .

At the end of the day it ain't rocket science it's called probation. Believe it or not it's not a new concept to the ncaa world or its fans.
