The Heat got to the second round last year without Shaq.
This year they got to the third round, virtually without an injured Shaq.
In the meantime, they paid him 30 mil to sit on the bench and cheer for Wade, the franchise. And when Wade couldnt perform, the Heat went home.

By the time Miami needs to re-sign Wade, only Shaq will still be under contract (2007-08).

YOU PROVED HALF OF MY POINT, THE HEAT IMPROVED WITH THE ADDITION OF THE DEISEL, THEY REACHED THE THIRD ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS. THE LAKERS REACHED THE FINALS THE LAST YEAR SHAQ WAS THERE AND WHEN SHAQ LEFT THE LAKERS DID NOT EVEN MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. RATIONALIZE THAT.
