Two important events went down this week in the Southern University baseball program.
One had all the subtlety of a fastball high and in.
That came Monday, when SU coach Roger Cador agreed to interview at Jackson State for its coaching vacancy. The meeting, which should include the school?s president, will likely be Thursday.
The other took the flight of a backdoor curve, just sneaky.
When the draft ended Wednesday, no current Jaguars were called. That?s the second straight year Southern hasn?t had a draft pick plucked from its roster after a run of 16, including Rickie Weeks and Fred Lewis, from 2002-04.
