President Barack Obama’s plan to give a boost to businesses looking to expand and a college’s desire to build a comprehensive small-business training center are merging at Southern University.

When fall classes start, Southern students looking to be entrepreneurs should be able to make use of a new Small Business Development Center currently under construction in what used to be an old bookstore.

The Southern University Foundation bought the building for about $300,000 about five years ago.

EXCELLENT!

So glad to see and hear about the continuing progress SU is making, in spite of all these hard hits Jindal's been throwing at them. In these economic times, it's good to see the HBCUs putting their monies to use and making positive academic strides.

This, along with the new Intramural Athletic facility, is what the students need to see.....progress in times of economic distress. And I think SUSoN just received a really big recognition for their nursing program.

Keep up the good job Southern!

Agreed Lioness,

Despite Jindal's warped agenda within Louisiana Educational system, major progress is continuing to occur on The Bluff!!!

I love seeing things as such... The direction within SU is BRIGHT!!!! Southern is on the move!!
