Now we (SU) have a new president, here's something I founded interesting..........

JAG89

THE NEW AMERICA'S TEAM
Myron Lawson was recently appointed to SU's board of Supervisors by Jindal. Lawson was once a strong supporter of Mary Landrieu and previously served on the board until his term just recently expired, in which Dr, Curman Gaines was appointed in his position. Now he's being appointed again as a representative of Congressional District 5, did something happen to either Dr. Curman Gaines from Alexandria, LA or Mr. Hendricks from West Monroe???

Dr. Gaines' is back on the board after 3 years off. Lawson's term expired 12/31/2014. Hendricks' term expires next year (2016).

The article I posted is dated June 8, 2015 and states that Jindal just recently appointed Lawson to the board. The article you posted is dated January 22, 2015, which I've already read and states that Jindal appointed Dr. Gaines to the board. Dr. Gaines should have been the person that took Lawson's seat on the board after his term expired in December 2014 . Only two individuals from each Congressional District are appointed to the board. Dr. Gaines, Mr. Lawson, and Mr. Hendricks all are from Congressional District 5. Again, are all 3 currently serving on the board as appointees from Congressional District 5 or did something happen to either Dr. Gaines or Mr. Hendricks???

Is Mr. Hendrix employed at SU now? He was the mayor of Simsboro and quite an interesting person.

He was seated on the board and his term wasn't suppose to expire until December 2016. Apparently it seems like former Board Member Myron Lawson has replaced Mr. Hendrix to finish out his term as one of the two representatives from Congressional District 5. The other Congressional District 5 Representative Curman Gaines just recently replaced Myron Lawson when his term expired in December 2014. Now both representatives from Congressional District 5 are from Alexandria, LA. Typically, Congressional District 5 would have someone from the Monroe Area and someone from the Alexandria Area. Now it appears to be a vacant seat in Congressional District 2, which is a predominately Black District that encompass all of New Orleans and runs along the river to North Baton Rouge, basically Black Baton Rouge/Scotlandville. The political makeup of Southern University System Board is very interesting.
