I'm not mad that a cop killed. I more upset at the set of individuals who thought it was their right to take what they wanted. The poor officer got caught up in it and accidentally killed one of his own.

My cousin actually doe work for the police and court system-he's the guy who brings you that nice warrant to go to court or arrest.

His house was broken into for the second time-all the back house windows broken and even the fence was yanked to the ground and destroyed. He shot (legal gun carrier) at them and chased 2 or 3 teens (who should have been in school) in his truck.

The officer was off duty and was told of gun shots in the area. One of the boys actually RAN to him for protection but got arrested. My cousin was speeding towards the cop and thief and drove onto the sidewalk. That is when the cop fired.

All my cousin was doing was trying to protect his property.

His son at National Signing Day.

Damn...my prayers are for you and your family. The cop responded off instinct. Some will say your cousin should not have chased them. Then there will be those who believe in the right to carry arms that your cousin was responding how a person should.

Keep the faith and continue to pray to get through this difficult situation.

They have one in custody. And this was the 2nd time in 3 days that his house was robbed. He was just tired of it.

"Desmond Luster Sr. was no criminal — in fact, he was fed up with crime.

Luster reported to police Friday night that someone had kicked in his back door around 10:30 p.m. in the 6700 block of Shadow Creek Drive in southeast Oak Cliff. He visited a neighbor to ask if she heard anything — she heard a loud boom — and he complained that the thief had “cleaned out” his 17-year-old son’s room.

He also told her he was angry because his house had been broken into previously and he felt the police response was slow and inadequate, said the neighbor. The neighborhood has been plagued by a rash of burglaries, records show.

Police records show eight burglaries, two thefts and two reports of criminal mischief or vandalism in the last year at homes on Luster's quarter-mile-long street.

He had a son who starred at football at Skyline High School. Desmond Luster Jr., accepted a scholarship last week to play at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

So in 5 months we lost our grandmother and him.
