STEM education is getting the “Magic City Classic” treatment.
Alabama State and Alabama A&M Universities, two historic institutions with longstanding traditions of academic excellence, are partnering to sponsor the Magic City Classic STEM Connection Conference on Oct. 28-29 at the Birmingham Sheraton Hotel.
The conference will highlight the global impact of STEM disciplines -- science, technology, engineering and mathematics -- and will facilitate discussions and presentations that are significant to K-12 students, their principals, teachers and counselors.
The conference also will showcase potential industry and government partnerships aimed at increasing opportunities for research, industry guidance, workforce development and community awareness.
The STEM forums will include a diverse mix of discussions and presentations facilitated by ASU and Alabama A&M’s researchers and subject matter experts.
More than 3,000 students, as well as secondary and postsecondary administrators, are expected to attend the two-day conference.
