GRAMBLING ? At least $27,100 was wrongly deposited into the coffers of Grambling State University's Black and Gold Foundation during the fall semester last year, according to public records obtained by The News-Star.

The new foundation ? first started in July ? has become a point of controversy in recent weeks since a petition surfaced in January seeking the removal of GSU President Horace Judson and his top administrators.

Judson developed the foundation as the new fund-raising arm for GSU. But as it grew and before its board of directors first came together in December, some funds from GSU's State Fair Classic football game in Dallas and from Operation Good Samaritan improperly went into the foundation.
