Well the reason why the field was allowed to grow is because after the Spring game, field turf will be installed

The same alums who donated the truck helped spearhead the funding for the turf

Most HBCUs, if not all, don't have the resources or staff to maintain natural grass. Field turf is definitely the way to go.

Understood, but programs that opt for field turf must also budget regular maintenance AND replacement. My fear is that our (SU) athletic department will not be ready to replace the field when it has reached the end of its useful life.

I'm on record in hating it (turf) but as Coach Wade stated, recruits these days like shiny things. Valley is gonna head into 2024 with a new scoreboard, turf and almost 60 scholarships (something not deemed possible 2 years ago)
