Duke U. ends full ride scholarship program for blacks

If you look up, Merit Base minority scholarships, most of the SEC and ACC schools have done away with them. This is why HBCUs need to really focus on endowments and scholarship funds. I can tell you first hand that I applied to several HBCUs and none of them gave me the grad school scholarship that the PWI school gave me. I literally went to grad school for free. This disparity in scholarship opportunities highlights the need for HBCUs to prioritize building strong endowments and scholarship funds to support their students' educational pursuits.

I wonder who created this scholarship in the first place and what was their outlook for the scholarship program? To me if they want it to be for black students only under the current laws they could move the scholarship to an HBCU or make it lineage based scholarship (example: descendants of the enslaved for example).

Good idea!
