College football is about 1 thing.....money! Why do you think Texas cried so much about playing Michigan instead of Cal playing Michigan? Bowl Competition? No. $14 mil. bowl payout was the difference.
College football mirrors society. Big Schools getting richer, get away w/ everything. Mid-major wanna be big tyme, and both wanna keep 1AA in the po-house.
