I agree, The Jem'Hadar could win if it was a quick battle. But you guys forget one little thing about the Jem'Hadar. "Tetra-cil White", you know the Dope they cant live without. The Give from the Founders. If the Klingons take there time and fight, in the long run the Klingons will win. Esp, if they kill the trade routes that bring the white to the Jem'Hadar.
Remember the episode when the Federation Crash landed on the planet full of Jem'Hadar, but they ran out of white and went crazy and fought with themselves.
To wrap this up, In a short battle, I believe the edge goes to the Jem'Hadar. In a long War, The Klingons would mop the floor with them.
 
I have been wondering when someone would bring up the issue about Tetra-cil White (The White). Come on, If your point was valid then the Jem Hadar would have been defeated a long time ago by defeating. If the battle was a long battle the founders would infiltrate the Klingon Empire (do you remember that episode?) and cause each house to lose honor. The klingons would then kill themselves, the only honorable thing to do if you?re the house that you belong to loses it?s honor.
You know that the founders would make sure that The Jem Hadar have plenty of supply routes to keep the white flowing.

Jem Hadar still win.

Wow, I'm actually having this discussion...

So the Jem'Hadar are still dependent on the Founders to win. They need the White that the Founders provide and seems they need the Founders to go in & weaken the enemy behind enemy lines. The Klingons know how to sneak in and do surprise attacks - they do have cloaking devices after all. Everyone has their weaknesses. But can the Jem'Hadar overcome their weakness (White) easier than Klingons can overcome theirs (dishonor)?
 
Lets not forget that the Jem hadar had the federation and the Klingons asses all but kicked, until the Prophets destroyed the Jem hadar fleet in the wormhole. So How can you argue that the Kingons would win straight up when they couldnt win with the help of the Federation? doesnt make much sense to me.
 
Jem'Hadar has Founders, Federation has Prophets...

OK, not exactly, but the Bajorans have the Prophets, Sisko's their Emissary, and the Federation has been much more accepting of the Prophets (or wormhole aliens) than the Dominion would have been. The Dominion probably woulda gone into the wormhole & tried to kill the Prophets anyway. But that's just speculation. The point is, take any advantage possible. The Jem'Hadar sure rely on the Founders to enhance their hand. Then the Cardassians, then the Breen....

I was talking about Jem'Hadar vs Klingons in a fight. Klingons by themselves wouldn't stand a chance against the entire Dominion. But that's due to sheer numbers! The number and quality of your resources, as well as what you do with them, are always factors.

Now you bring in the Founders. Lets keep it between the Jem'Hadar Vs. the Klingons. Remember the episode when they captured Worf. That is the episode when we discovered the fake doctor and the fake general Martok(sp). Hmm, Remember Worf Kicked all those boys butt and he was raised on Earth not the Klingon Home world. Remember the General lost an eye, how many Jem'Hadar did he battle?? I tell you the Jem'Hadar can not handle the Kinglons in a fight.

You forgot all about the mine field. Why was it so important the Dominion distroy the mine field? Not because of reinforcements. They were making Jem'Hadar at the Cardacian home world. So they did not need reinforcements. They needed a key ingredient to make "the white". That is why they made an all out battle for Deep Space Nine.

Remember the mine field episodes were before the Jem'Hadar was distroyed in the WormHole.
 
If the Dominion had gotten desperate, they could have made Jem Hadar that werent dependent on the white. Remember they were genetically enginerred. the problem was that they couldnt keep up with building ships. you mean to tell me that white couldnt me produce in the Alpha Quadrant? That doesnt make much sense. Even so, the dominion didnt lose the war because the ran out of white.
 
I agree with those who think the Klingons could beat the Jem'Hadar. I think the Klingons would have a better chance if they used hit and run tactics however. They could attack the Jem'Hadar's supply routes. If I was a Klingon commander that would be the first thing I would do. Disrupt the Jem'Hadar's supply of Tetra-cil also know as "the white." Hell, its liquid crack if you ask me.

The Jem'Hadar are crackheads!!!!!!!

The Founders have to be interjected into the battle if you mention ?The White? The Founders have to be included in the conflict if ?The White? is mentioned.
Work is the last person that should be mentioned as a Klingon role model. Everybody knows that Work is the biggest girl that is in the Klingon empire , you stay that is so tough then why was Worf always being punked on TNG?his wife, child and DATA even punked worf. Worf was pimped slapped by nearly everyone that was on a TNG episode.

You know that there is no way that Work should have survive those battles, but somehow Worf even escapes and get back to DS9.

How do you suggest that the Klingons cut of the supply routes for ?The White.? Please do say send a cloaked armada to cut off the routes. It doesn?t work that way, sensor array with a tachyon gid let?s you see cloaked ships from far away. The Jem? Hadar are the masters of warefare when compared to The Klingon Empire. The Klingons have become soft since they joined the Federation.

I'm glad I'm not alone in the sci-fi universe. Actually, I had at least 2 friends back at school who'd watch Star Trek with me every week (Deep Space 9 was on at the time). So, I knew y'all had to be out there somewhere. I know we ain't goin to no conventions or anything too corny, but I'm glad other Black folk know this stuff is cool, too.

Keep on lovin that sci-fi, folks! :cool:
 
I went to the Hilton is Vegas were the Star Trek exhibit and ride are located. The Star Trek ride is similar to the Back to the Future Ride at Universal Studios. The Star Trek ride is 10 years newer that the Back to the Future ride but the Star Trek is 4 times worse than the Back to the Future Ride. The Star Trek Store is horrible also, but don?t talk my word for it, go to Vegas and see for yourself.

I have been a scifi fan since I was a kid.
 
I went to the Star Trek Experience a few years ago. They almost had me fooled with the turbo lift. I thought it actually took me somewhere. The shuttle craft ride is the best part.

I am a sci-fi buff, especially when a movie really make you think.That's one of the reasons why they are written.The good flicks have themes that deal with today's issues, they are just wrapped up in all that hi-tech gadgetry to catch the audience attention. Star Trek definitely dealt with issues of the Sixties.

I am glad Hollywood is recognizing the African American talent for Sci-Fi movies. Lawrence Fishburne is really cool in THE MATRIX. Avery Brooks is the coolest Star Trek captain. Captain Kirk is the biggest playboy on the series.

Hey brotha's if you did'nt catch Angela Bassett in Stange Days, you need to check her out in that movie, she really showed off her sex appeal in that movie. :cool:
 
I like old Sci-fi flicks like Buck Rogers, Lost in Space, and The Greatest American Hero. I got tired of tring to keep up with all of those Star Trek movies.

There is definitely staying power in sci-fi that has relevance to current issues. By exploring those important and oftentimes poignant issues, sci-fi becomes more than just smooth technology and special effects. I think that's why stories such as Star Trek have lasted so long. The Matrix will last too. And it's so so cool to see our peeps representin' in a significant way!! Keep it up, folks :cool:
 
ANGELA BASSETT'S FIRST SCI FI MOVIE
Angela's first sci fi was CRITTERS 4, it was not all that great but man, Angela make the movie interesting. She has shower scene in the movie,but it is not as HOT as one of the scenes in STRANGE DAY'S.

The only thing that you can go is sit there and scream at your computer because you tell your ships to jump to warp and go to the base to kill the enemy, but your ships can?t go to warp until your armada leaves the planet?s gravity well. So, you sit there watching your armada move at impulse until they leave the gravity well and then your ships jump to warp.

Or you are just chilling trying to build up resources, and then you find out that someone like the Cardassians have cloaking technology, because a Cardassian Armada just de-cloaked and they are destroying everything that you have built up.

One of my favorite missions as Starfleet is: you have to rid the quadrant of the Borg. So you build up your Armada to locate and remove the Borg threat. The twist is: you are by the Neutral Zone. Yes the Romulans are patrolling and they are cloaked. Yes you can research a tachylon grid to detect cloaked ships, buy if you are not careful one of the ships in your armada may cross the neutral zone because you are busy paying attention to something else.

Each race has their own special weapons. I would enjoy playing this game online and kicking you alls a**.
