What chu lisnin too...

J77, I don't think anyone is saying they don't listen to hip hop.

But for me, I rarely play alot of hip hop these days. It is rare that there is a CD that I put in heavy rotation. The last was Kanye, and I think I am going to cop that Slum Village because I love selfish(eben though the last CD was horrible)....but with most rap, I just get a mix CD of whatever songs I am feeling at the time and completly forgo the entire CD. When it comes to spending my money, Rap just rarely gets it....

Right now, Anthony Hamilton's 'Since I Seent You'.... I  that CD...

Jag-Tig? How is the Van Hunt? I started to pic it up last night at Walmart it was like $8...

I really like his CD. Suge mentioned that he can't get into it, but I like it because it's different and the vibe isn't that regular, everyday bland R&B that you get from some of the dudes. For $8 you need to just get it and have it in your collection.

Can anyone refresh my memory on when Anita's CD is coming out? I thought it was late summer, but I can't remember now. I've been patient, but I'm tired of waiting on Ms. Baker. We've been waiting way too long now.

Van Hunt reminds me of a less spaced out Jamiroqui on some tracks. He is definitely a class act.

I got a nice mix by T Mallory from this site. And he had the nerve to put "Street Player" by Chicago and "Melodies" by Made in the U.S.A. at the end of the mix. It was beautiful. :)

What chow know bout Jamiroqui in he'ar?

I think people was straight sleep on their "Canned Heat" cd. "Return of the Space Cowboy" is still my cut. The remix by Masters at Work (I think) was cold). Did you all hear them play "Cosmic Girl" in "Love Jones" at the house party?

Its hard to tell that he is white.

Now Remy Shands puts me in the mind of Jamiroqui.

Zhane' Saturday Night.

Has anyone ever heard of the jazz fusion group WEATHER REPORT? They don't play anymore, but as a musician I love this group. Alex Acuna is a phenomenal drummer. The bass player, the late Jacque Pastoria(sp) was hell on the fretless bass.

Van Hunt is no Jamiroqui. I have 2 CD's by that band and I love them both, but I still don't like Van Hunt. You guys are right, he is different, but to me he still sucks. There ar maybe 3 cuts that I like and I have given that CD as many chances as I am going to give it. And speaking of Remy Shand, besides that single, I thought his CD sucked too. Blue yed soul my arse!

Tamia, Carl Thomas, Jasan Mraz, Maroon 5, and some old teddy P have been bumping in the house and car since the weekend!

The Manhattans - I am all old school. I can't stop listening to these bruhs.

Shining Star, Wish You Were Mine, Let's Just Kiss and Say Goodbye, I Never Danced To A Lovesong, It Feels So Good to Be Loved So Bad, ETC, ETC

Afterwards, it'll be the Ohio Players

Man, Remy Shand was better than decent. The last song on that cd was straight. Since you down with Jamiroqui, I'ma let you slide. Some people think that the band this an aquired taste, I don't know why.

What you know 'bout Maroon 5? Love me some Maroon 5. They are coming here to open for John Mayer, who I'm a big fan of as well. I will be at the concert. Got both of John's CDs. And a lot of folk don't like Jamiroqui because there's a different twist on the music, which is why I'm surprised you don't like Van Hunt. He's coming to B'ham to do a Neo-Soul type concert. yeah, he has to grow on you, but I just like the guitar-playing on several of those tracks. I'm a huge fan of acoustic guitar and bands that are strong on the strings. Some of Van's songs remind me of Lenny Kravitz. But, I'm not a huge Lenny fan. Go figure.

The Best of The Emotions in the car. I'm tired of hearing talk all thru rush hr traffic in the morning and if I hear White Tee one more time I'm gonna scream. At work I'm listening to Brownstone, the 1st Erykah Badu and a mixed cd.

Van Hunt is pretty eclectic. He isn't for everyone however.
I am agreeing with the rest of the choices too..

Jag-tig, you need an "escort" for the Van Hunt gig...?

Terrance Trent Darby, man BF you just made me remember some of the hits. I think I am going to get that CD.

JT, I also have the John Mayer. I haven't listened in a while, but that boy jams. Even when he does make all those weird faces while singing....LOL!
