GREENSBORO, N.C. — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has suspended its 1890 National Scholars Program, which provides full scholarships to students from rural and underserved communities attending historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). According to the USDA’s website, the program is under review, but no specific reasons for the suspension have been provided.

The suspension follows executive orders from the Trump Administration that rolled back federal diversity and inclusion efforts. As the USDA conducts its review, advocates, and stakeholders are expected to push for the program’s reinstatement, citing its significance in supporting students and diversifying the agricultural workforce.

These are the (19) 1890 universities:

Alabama A&M University
Alcorn State University, Mississippi
Central State University, Ohio
Delaware State University
Florida A&M University
Fort Valley State University, Georgia
Kentucky State University
Langston University, Oklahoma
Lincoln University, Missouri
North Carolina A&T State University
Prairie View A&M University, Texas
South Carolina State University
Southern University, Louisiana
Tennessee State University
Tuskegee University, Alabama
University of Arkansas Pine Bluff
University of Maryland Eastern Shore
Virginia State University
West Virginia State University

Blacks for Trump, what say yall???
They don't care. They are still in hiding in the closet and will not admit they are scared of gay people because they want to try it. They still think White Evangelical Christians are praying for the same God as they do. They are still on tik tok thinking Trump is sending them a 8000 stimulus check on February 31st.

The PWIs in rural areas are going to get even harder, as alot of people in rural areas who voted for Trump don't realize how much federal funding their universities get.

The rural teachers program just got axed at East Carolina University and I imagine that other schools in the state are going to be effected too. Next I am expecting the rural doctors program is going to be axed next and we already have medical personnel shortage in the state of North Carolina. I am glad my cousin already graduated under the program, but you have to feel for those who have not completed their degree.

I think alot of people knew that this was coming, as a number of Black students organization have lost their funding at PWIs.

Yep, LSU AG Center will lose double of what SU is losing especially in rural parts of Louisiana that rely on the AG funding.

Tulane will lose almost 60 million in cancer funding through the NSF and NIH.
