That's a very good show by HBO. It puts a lot of things in perspective.

It also makes me made as hell.
 
This is an excellent show. It will make you proud of your heritage and angry and upset as well.

The most shocking thing I heard was about how the lady gave birth to her child and ran away 2 days afterwards. They put the dogs after her and they tore both of her breasts off. She lived to be an old woman...but with no breasts. We have been through a lot as a people. I can't see how black people tend to turn their backs on their history.
 
Powerful, eloquent and haunting. Everyone needs to see this. Maybe then people can see that even though we've come a long ways, it's not really that far from where we were for a lot of AA.
 
I first read WPA slave narratives in 1976. The transcripts were powerful then and I am sure the Smithsonian digitized versions are quite moving.
