UMass’s football program is an embarrassment. This is not the fault of the student-athletes. It is the fault of the UMass administration and the athletic department. The players are not being put in a position to succeed, and that’s on the grownups and the citizens of Massachusetts who are letting this happen.

Simply put, the Minutemen should not be playing big-time college football. They lose by whopping scores. UMass is 1-9. Here are the scores of the Minutemen’s last five games:

Florida International 44, UMass 0.

Louisiana Tech 69, UMass 21.

UConn 56, UMass 35.

Liberty 63, UMass 21.

Army 63, UMass 7.

.....

I always say that NDSU is a FBS school masquerading as a FCS school. Well UMass is the flip side of that.

They are in no man's land as far as conferences is concerned similar to UConn. They need to go back down to FCS unless the MAC allows them in or the Big East brings back football

Those schools outside of the SEC, ACC, Big 10, Big 12, and Pac 12 playing themselves and getting pimped in the process.

They will never make the playoffs so what in the hell is the point of playing FBS? To go 8-5 and play at a bowl game with 14K people in attendance?

At least in FCS when teams get pimped they can go to the playoffs or the celebration bowl

and those ADs outside of UCF won't say anything publicly out of fear for them never getting a Power 5 job. The Boise State admitted his schedule was weak and didn't deserve playoff consideration -
