N.C. A&T FOOTBALL PLAYER SHOT TO DEATH

BENSON, N.C. (AP) ? A North Carolina A&T football player was shot to death early Saturday at a nightclub.
Herbert Dixon III, a 20-year-old sophomore linebacker from Clinton, died outside the D&L Nightclub, said Tammy Amaon, spokeswoman for the Johnston County Sheriff's Office.
"There was some kind of confrontation on the dance floor, and then shots were exchanged," Amaon said. "We have problems there all the time with disturbances breaking out when they close."
