Giants CEO Larry Baer takes leave of absence in light of taped scuffle with wife
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Giants president and chief executive officer Larry Baer as asked the team’s board of directors to take a leave of absence in light of Friday’s recorded scuffle with his wife, Pam, and the board has agreed, the club said in a statement Monday morning.
The Giants did not name a single replacement to run the team’s day-to-day operations, but said in a statement that the “executive team” will do so.
“The Board of Directors of San Francisco Baseball Associates is closely monitoring the matter involving Giants President and CEO Larry Baer,” statement read. “Pursuant to League policy, Major League Baseball is taking the lead in gathering all facts surrounding the situation. The organization is cooperating fully with the process.
