Or Nehls might admit he won’t back a bipartisan border security bill, at least, in part, because he’s “not willing to do too damn much right now to help a Democrat and to help Joe Biden’s approval rating.”

Or maybe, when asked about what the House GOP hopes to gain from its impeachment inquiry into President Biden, Nehls will candidly and proudly reply, “Donald J. Trump 2024, baby!”

Or Nehls will call Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO)—who is Black—“loud” and her husband, a “thug.”

Nehls has done all of these things, earning seemingly endless headlines and sparking controversial news cycles.

In the process, the second-term congressman has earned a name for himself. He’s also earned blowback, occasionally from fellow Republicans. To hear him tell it, that’s the idea.

“I didn’t come up here to make friends,” Nehls told The Daily Beast last week in between drags on his cigar—this time seated in a black leather chair in his congressional office.

“Every once in a while, you know, when you’re that junior woodchuck in the room, you try to build a relationship with these guys and try to understand just how this place works,” Nehls—a 55-year-old in his second term—added of senior Republicans.
 

Personally I'm tired of Black Trump supporters saying the first step act and his so called opportunity zone helped our community. It didn't at all. There are 15-20 million black people in America. Less than 3% has been to prison or on probation. It's a fucking insult to say this benefitted our community when over 97% of the black community has never been in the jail system. On this opportunity zone mess another lie. 95% of America doesn't even have $150 in the bank. Let alone the group that's the most poverty level in America. The top % might have benefited from it but 99% of the community did not. In fact know matter how the ignorant group of people who keep denying COVID it happened and killed a high number of black people. Trump is failure and always has been. Him being in rap videos means nothing to intelligent people. Trumps tariffs played a role in inflation. We live in a global market and when you put tariffs on supplies it will trickle down to the consumers. Trump attracts a certain type of black person. One who is only about the dollar and sees nothing else or the one who is attracted by the ignorance of power of a unhinged con artist. Y'all can pray all you want to but if you don't vote Trump will show you who he is and that's about himself and paving a way for white people who know they are on the verge of becoming minorities.
