The 81st Magic City Classic A&M vs ASU

The only people who actually think Mississippi cares about JSU are bootlicks. Even outsiders can see they don't give a damn about Jackson or JSU with every move they make

The only shining light (somewhat) is that Elvis's cousin is virtually tied with Reeves in the current polls so this is the best chance Mississippi has to get out of the GOP pothole

662,

I hope he wins. The people of Jackson deserve better.

The big differences between previous years and now are:

* It's one thing when you are neglecting Jackson and the Delta with schools closing/merging and hospitals closing/in danger of closing. It's another thing when those rural schools/hospitals in the hills are closing as well. Republicans work at those places as well

* The welfare scandal has turned off a lot of GOP and swing voters. Everyone knows Brett Favre, Phil Bryant and everyone associated with it (including the current governor) should be in jail for it (but are waiting their time out to see if Reeves wins). Will enough hate vote for Presley is the question

The Jackson water crisis was an open secret here in MS but the snow storm in 2021 exposed it to the nation

Did Bama State get more from this deal because AAMU didn't sign?

From my understanding, not this year but since ASC can't use AAMU logos, they could make them go back to the table and renogiate. In the long run, they'll get more

Think about it. If the ASC is giving 1.5 they are making 3 at the lowest end.
We know from their last available 990 tax form that they had $2.4 m in revenue from the classic. That is more than the schools. Because they would not disclose records of total revenue and expenses, we don't know their total profits.

yes. instead of 1.2 total payout they will get 1.5 million for their hosting hears. bama state would have lost 700k both years a&m hosted but in the new agreement that is reduced to 400k (800k total).

You not reading that right… AAMU and ASU both would have originally got 1.2 million for all 4 years…. Now ASU gets 1.5 for 2 years and 500k the other years when AAMU host.… Also ASU’s is only GUARANTEED this year. Because Jefferson County is only committed to their portion this upcoming year… thats One of the reasons AAMU didnt sign also)
