*Someone is quite upset that Taye Diggs is married to a white woman. According to the New York Daily News, a letter was mailed to the actor threatening to "burn" and "castrate" him because of his interracial marriage to Broadway star Idina Menzel.
While further details of the letter were not released, a police source told the ?Daily News? that the note also threatened Diggs with "bodily harm" and labeled him a "sellout."
The writer also penned at least two letters dissing Menzel specifically, part of which threatened to burn down the Gershwin Theatre where she is currently starring in the musical ?Wicked,? according to the paper.
The mailings had postmarks of Ohio, Philadelphia and New York and were received Wednesday by the president of the League of American Theaters and Producers. Each was turned over to the NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force, police sources told the ?Daily News.?
Diggs and Menzel met while starring in the original Broadway cast of "Rent" in 1995. They were married in January 2003.
